I don’t know about Marcus as the safeties coach but he was right about Don Brown defense. Beat up on average teams and get exposed by good teams.

I should’ve said average offenses vs good offenses. Osu 2016 and 2017 had JT Barrett very limited passer.

2016 Alex Hornibrook very limited passer.

2016 Trace(first year starter and breaking in a new coordinator)Penn Start offense was not clicking at the beginning of the year.

2018- Penn State very limited offense.

Name me one good or great offense Don Brown defense stop or slowed down? Name  one

First rule of fight club - don't talk about fight club.

First rule of Michigan fandom - It is NOT a big game if Michigan wins it.  The other team is not a good team if Michigan wins.

Counter point - In some the losses, the oppoisition was held to below their average on offense or who has won the game against good offenses with only defense.

Poor logic above.  Always look at with and without, before and after.  Feebled minded can only grasp one situation at a time.

I love when people argue from both sides of their a** —— “Harbaugh can’t beat anyone good!!!”.....”well actually he’s beaten Wisconsin twice, Penn State three times, Notre Dame once, MSU three times, Florida twice, Iowa once”.....”yeah but they had bad years or their offense wasn’t clicking yet”....you people just make up stuff to serve your narrative. Just give the man some credit - he’s won some big games just not enough of them (particularly against OSU)

I saw Georgia’s great defense get crushed by LSU. Alabama’s defense has been getting killed by great offenses for two years. Last year South Carolina put up an insane amount of yards and points on Clemson the eventual national champion.

Point being, in today’s college football it doesn’t matter how good the defense is. Especially in games against the best offenses. If an offense is rolling they can be unstoppable. That’s why Harbaugh hired Gattis. He understands that. Sadly we don’t yet have a quarterback to put up the type of points needed to keep pace. Michigan can close the gap with every one of the top teams in an instant if they can find a great QB. It’s that simple.

Bash the program or tough critic? Marcus knows more football than most and i garauntee you he can get the most out of those young men. And I don’t care when he coached last

Yes men based on what exactly? That pep and drevno were forced out to bring in fresh blood in warriner and Gattis. I don’t even know where these takes are coming from anymore. Criticism I understand, but this is ridiculous. People were just complaining about staff turnover being too high because partridge left.

Marcus Ray is completely unqualified for the position of coaching safeties. He has never coached division 1 football. He hasn’t coached at all in a decade. What recruiting experience does he have?

His main qualifications appear to be played safety at Michigan and is hyper critical to the point of concern trolling the program.

It is always interesting how people who actually know something get negged on here. There is something amiss on this team and as even Woodson and Ray and Skene and on and on often insinuate and sometimes outright declare-there is a coaching issue here. (And no, I am not Woodson et all but I do have informative experience.) And here Jim Harbaugh needs to reform himself. Jim has many good attributes but he also is in need of a consulting group to keep him headed in the right direction. Coach is a strong-willed lone ranger. There are some virtues to be this guy but there are some serious limitations here as well. No objective person can look at what has happened at the QB position and conclude that there is not a problem here. That for four consecutive years Michigan has had grossly uneven play from such a critical position defines the existence of a rather profound flaw-a coaching flaw. I do not know that any college QB can play over the top of a coach like Jim...not even a Burrows-and this is a problem that only Jim can fix.

Jim Harbaugh needs to have some pretty hard walls around him to keep him from riding down these tangential paths he goes down-that only offer narrow solutions. This is a complicated game to coach-and here I am sympathetic-but there are limits to the sympathy. Self-assessment is perhaps the weakest of the human's traits-get some help Coach. You can do the job...but you need to listen to other voices as well. That is how I would advise him.

being a grad assistant is not coaching. Ray is a troll and not even a good one. If he was qualified to coach maybe central would actually have hired him off of being a ga. Maybe it’s because he sucks as a coach? There are plenty of guys out there that have   more skill than Marcus ray. Nobody would even remotely suggest him if he didn’t play for Michigan.
