Chargers Epic Collapse Means…
Brandon Staley gets fired on the tarmac.
This guy played all his starters in a meaningless game. Gets his top WR Mike Williams injured in the game. Despite that, goes up 27-0 and blows the game against Trevor Lawrence, who threw an NFL record 4 picks in the 1st half!!!!, and the Jags.
This means Sean Payton is likely taking the Chargers’ job and Denver might back up the brinks truck for Harbaugh.

Go to bed, you're drunk.
January 14th, 2023 at 11:56 PM ^
When you fall, get back up. Never give up.
January 14th, 2023 at 11:45 PM ^
Just to add on: it was hilarious watching Joey Bosa’s tantrum help cost them the game when his penalty led to the Jags going for 2 instead of the FG.
January 14th, 2023 at 11:49 PM ^
Okay, maybe you're just tipsy.
Because it was awesome watching him lose the game.
Have a water. Hydrate, then get back out there.

I really like Ekeler and Herbert. I think they're both exciting, terrific players.
But I can't get upset when any team with a Bosa on it loses. Especially when they screw up and directly help cost the game. It was typical of him, watching him stomp off the field after the game, without shaking any hands
I was surprised that he wasn't ejected after the second unsportsmanlike conduct penalty. The explanation of why he wasn't tossed made no sense.
January 15th, 2023 at 2:06 PM ^
But Bosa stands for Beat Ohio State Again.
January 16th, 2023 at 3:12 AM ^
MAGA strikes again. Waaan Waaaaan
January 15th, 2023 at 10:23 AM ^
There was a false start right in front of him, then he was held. That's what pissed him off. It was his lack of maturity that got him the flag, though. How sweet is that.
January 15th, 2023 at 11:37 AM ^
Buckeye tears taste like sugar, that is how sweet it was!
January 15th, 2023 at 12:24 PM ^
I am saying his lack of maturity and also 'Roids.

Definitely got Lattimer vibes.😂
January 14th, 2023 at 11:45 PM ^
The Chargers were +5 in turnovers and lost the game.
January 14th, 2023 at 11:57 PM ^
Has that EVER happened?? Mind boggling.
January 15th, 2023 at 12:00 AM ^
I'm sure in a college game somewhere and probably pre 1980 NFL where there were just more turnovers in general, but I certainly can't recall anything recent.
January 15th, 2023 at 12:38 AM ^
You would be correct. I read somewhere that the 1961 AFL Championship Oilers vs Chargers is the record. Chargers were +6 against the Oilers as their QB threw 5 picks in that game…
Chargers lost 10 - 3. History repeating itself.
Edit: I stand corrected.
January 15th, 2023 at 5:04 AM ^
I looked up the boxscore for this game because your post piqued my curiosity.
- The Houston Oilers had 7 turnovers: 6 picks and 1 fumble (on 5 forced fumbles)
- The Chargers had 6 turnovers: 4 picks and 2 fumbles (on 2 forced fumbles)
So Chargers were +1 on turnovers
The yardage was the same for both teams: 256 yards.
But Chargers gave up 55% more penalty yardage: 106 to 68.
Here's the boxscore if you're interested.
January 15th, 2023 at 9:48 AM ^
So it sounds like things were pretty even between those teams whereas this Chargers team completely shit the bed in the 2nd half. You can't lose after being plus five in turnovers and up by 27 at one point in the game. That just can't happen. Something has to change.
January 15th, 2023 at 12:36 AM ^
AND had a substantial lead. Just an amazing collapse.
January 15th, 2023 at 11:40 AM ^
LAC offense went to sleep in the 2nd half, while Spicoli scored on every possession starting with the last one of the 1st half! Need to play all 60 minutes.
January 14th, 2023 at 11:46 PM ^
Maybe Denver can convince Kliff Kingsbury to bring his hot GF and his no socks shoe wearing self to coach?
I'm just spitballing here.
Also, way to go the ohio Bosa, jackass. I told my GF after they were up 27 to 0 when they tried to get cute on 3rd and a foot that led to the Jags 1st TD, they will lose this game.
January 14th, 2023 at 11:46 PM ^
Means I won big on Fan Duel. I had Sf and Jax as individual bets and a 2 way parlay.
For most of that game I was cursing myself for taking a chance on the Jags. But thanks to Bosa I win out…
January 15th, 2023 at 12:02 AM ^
I took the Jags +2.5 before kickoff and then bet the Jags +1200 on the ML at halftime. Just had a hunch after that TD before half. Needless to say it was s a good night for me.
January 15th, 2023 at 1:54 AM ^
Oh man. I hope you're a real bettor unlike me who took Iowa +400 at the under 4 timeout a couple nights ago...with a measly $10.
Hopefully something along the lines of a $100 wager makes for a great weekend 'financially'.
January 15th, 2023 at 12:42 PM ^
That one has to hurt Bob.
January 15th, 2023 at 1:07 PM ^
1.4M to profit 11 grand.....
Or, in this case...lose 1.4M. 😆 🤣 😂
Don't even feel bad for that dude.
January 15th, 2023 at 2:11 PM ^
-12500?
Who’d a thought Jax would score 12500 points in a half?
January 15th, 2023 at 11:59 PM ^
damn.
they fact someone has $1.4 to blow on $11k is wild.
January 15th, 2023 at 8:29 AM ^
i had $10 on 6-way parlay, all six wildcard games straight up. figured i was safe when i turned out the lights but nnnnope.
January 14th, 2023 at 11:46 PM ^
You had my upvote, OP, but then the second part of your final sentence means...
January 14th, 2023 at 11:47 PM ^
I’m very much on the side, “Harbaugh is staying. He’s using this NFL flirtation for more power against Warde.”
but I think this isn’t a good thing. I’m with you, OP. Los Angeles is also a team that might throw the bank at Harbaugh.
January 14th, 2023 at 11:48 PM ^
Dean Spanos won't throw the bank at anyone.
January 15th, 2023 at 1:41 AM ^
Yep. They won’t get Payton or Harbaugh because he’s a notorious cheapass
January 14th, 2023 at 11:48 PM ^
I think the OP thinks Payton gets the Charger job (as a QB whisperer / OC to Herbert) and Denver has less places to turn to for their header.
January 14th, 2023 at 11:51 PM ^
I know. But still, why can’t LA be in play. Other than mentioned above, the chargers are cheaaaaaap.
January 14th, 2023 at 11:52 PM ^
I mean both situations are plausible. I just think Payton is more desired than Harbaugh, so he’d get dibs on the Chargers gig. He was wearing a Charger colored tie on the set tonight.
January 15th, 2023 at 7:51 AM ^
Obligatory: ...Denver has fewer places to turn...
This is the MGoBlog Way.
January 14th, 2023 at 11:52 PM ^
I want the Jags to go far in the playoffs because it just reinforces how bad a job Urban did last year.
January 14th, 2023 at 11:52 PM ^
How bad of a pro coach is Urban Meyer?
January 15th, 2023 at 12:02 AM ^
Made Bobby Petrino, Rich Kotite and Matt Patricia look like future hall of famers.
January 15th, 2023 at 12:19 AM ^
Terrible coach, but hell of a kicker.
January 15th, 2023 at 1:23 AM ^
I suck. But, I can kick whoever the fuck I want to.
January 15th, 2023 at 1:37 PM ^
Kicker whisperer?
January 15th, 2023 at 8:29 AM ^
As bad as Lou Holtz
January 15th, 2023 at 2:01 PM ^
As bad a coach as he is a person.
January 14th, 2023 at 11:53 PM ^
It means the Jags don't miss Urban Meyer.
January 14th, 2023 at 11:56 PM ^
Means I made a great decision to throw $5 at Jacksonville to win early in the 4th at +1000. Woohoo!
January 15th, 2023 at 12:00 AM ^
You’re not wrong
January 15th, 2023 at 12:26 AM ^
Not sure why you are getting negged. If Jim was only using the NFL to renegotiate he would have already signed an extension. He’s clearly still hoping the right situation presents itself, and going back home to SD with an elite QB has to be enticing if it actually becomes an option. I wouldn’t assume Payton would be their first choice.
