CFB Risk Day 35 - Maple Syrup and Grits DO NOT Mix

CliffsNotes Instructions

(1) If you want an order aligned with Michigan’s current battle plan before you attack/defend, go to Michigan Risk Central Command. You'll get a few options to choose from.

(2) If you identify as a rogue, head over to CFB Risk and attack any of the OSU (gray) or A&M (dark red) territories.

Texas' Ugly Cousin Asking for Mercy

1,228 of you played last night, and it's scaring the Aggs. Apparently some of them have been asking us to chill with our attacks on their territories. I presume they're asking for some sort of neutrality pact. Mostly because they need region bonuses to win, and we're now in position to attack those regions.

So yeah, a pact ain't happenin'. We aren't Charlie Brown.

In response to our Southwest successes, Pay-to-Play University has run to Canada, which is unacceptable. Michigan owns the North and the Northern Lights have been a good regional bonus for us. The southerners must be evicted, which would honestly be a favor to them because apparently nobody from the South can handle playing in the cold -- at least that's what they tell recruits.

Fortunately, despite their attack on Canada, we still managed to grab a regional bonus, which is huge. With our raw star advantage, the regional bonuses are A BIG DEAL. Multiplying the most raw stars in the game by 50%? Hell yeah.

So let's keep shotgunning the hell outta TAMU and OSU and making their lives miserable, while also picking up regions to make their lives MORE MISERABLE.

Care to join in on the fun?

Grits mixes with everything because nobody could eat that spackle masquarading as food on it's own.  People keep trying it with other actually edible foods in a vain attempt to make it somehow less disgusting but they fail every time.

I'm convinced Grits, like Grape Nuts cereal, began as a goof, "hey, let's see if we can get people to eat THIS" and then it just got away from them.

This is funny, trademark it. I'm planning on sending this to my wife, who is very southern and very much grew up poor raised by grandparents and parents who thought she had it easy. Consequently she eats all those awful southern poor people foods like grits and turnip greens.

To your point, she adds so much butter to her grits my arteries harden just seeing the concoction.

Grits are supposed to be dressed up, that's the point. I never understood the disdain. Grits with a little butter and cheddar, salt and pepper, two sunny side up eggs on top with chopped chives is splendid. Or grits with a little olive oil, onions, and old bay with grilled shrimp? Perfect.

Or, if you've ever had a pork chop served on top of creamy mushroom polenta... fun fact, polenta is grits. Just stone ground yellow corn instead of white corn. Mix in a bit of cream, chicken stock, roasted mushrooms, garlic and thyme.

I concede they're unhealthy. But, so is anything else delicious. You wouldn't crave a plate of plain white rice. Or a bowl of pasta without sauce. Grits should get the same leeway.

Hate to be “that guy” but, not only were Grape-Nuts not an accident. They were essentially stolen from Kellogg when C.W. Post was a patient at Kellogg’s health sanitarium.  Kellogg served them to patients to help them cleanse their bowels.

The history is a bit different depending on who tells it but Kellogg’s was always paranoid about people stealing their secrets because of this betrayal.

Before the UM strategy changed, we could only attack 4 or 5 TAMU territories.  This next roll, there are 17 TAMU territories at Risk.  You win some, you lose some, but if you have more players you will win more overall.

We need everyone to make a move the next three evenings.  The number of players matters.  A lot.

On a personal note, my TAMU alum sister in law has been very quiet.  Many thanks to all who have participated in this moment of silence.

Only team I'd consider allying with at this point... Iowa State. The hues are a bit off, but that maize and blue combo is pleasing. To hell with the rest, especially ohio, aTm, wisconsin, and notre dame. Oh wait, nd is already in hell.

OSU made some solid gains yesterday and has some well protected territories at the moment. This must not be allowed to continue.

I'd offer texas a&m a non aggression pact for 10 turns if they immediately cede California, Rockies, Flint Hills, and Mississippi River. And also leave Canada completely. They'd keep their regions and focus on attacking the south and the Caribbean.

Also should ally with ISU against Wisconsin, and maybe Tennessee.

Also everyone should laugh at how stupid Georgia Techs leadership is and how they decided to lose the game because a few of them don't like Michigan.

This version of Risk has truly turned into a "Us verses the World" mentality.  Anyone who looks at the map and digs into the individual territorial battles will see that along the TAMU / OSU border in Central America both sides will not attack each other (unless some crazy rogue goes off, but that is usually just 1 or 2 player(s) only).  HOWEVER, take a look at the TAMU / MICHIGAN border along the Red River.  TAMU dedicated 600 stars (over 70 players) in 1 territory alone.

So they want us to layoff of them, but they won't go after OSU either??? Hmmmm... Not happening.  We have been doped twice in this game because we are trustworthy.  But now it is a "No Holds Attack on Anyone"****

**** Except ISU, their cool and well coordinated.  They don't bother us, we work around them....
