CC: Rumors and Harbaugh open thread

[ed-S: Jeff Ross isn't even making the announcement today anymore. I won't fight the rumor threads but nothing seems to have changed from Brian's post yesterday. So I have changed the title here. Go ahead and have your thread; nothing I've got has changed my belief that the ball is still in Jim's court.]

I expect that if there is anything of significance that comes us, there will be new threads created. For now, for those of us up early scouring MgoBlog for anything of interest on the Harbaugh, Miles, cc front, let's use this as the general discussion thread.

By the way, thanks, Internet, for making me exhausted today! The Twitter / board frenzy around 11 last night cost me a good hour and a half of sleep. Harbaugh needs to announce that he is coming home pronto!

Brian - unlike many other people with Sources - has shown no desire to just blurt stuff out for the sake of being noticed. I'd imagine he's hearing a lot of the same stuff and probably more, but feels no need to comment yet because there's a lot of noise that is settling out. Not attempting to brown nose, but he handles his 'connectedness' much, much better than most other people

What idiot would issue a report saying they would out a source who is confiming something that no one in an official capacity wants released until those in a position to make that information public, if it's true.

This is how Michigan got burned in the first Les Miles offer when he had actually agreed to coach in Ann Arbor and then was forced to renege because of broken trust in premature disclosure of that offer.

The only reason you can't fuck this up is because Harbaugh is in a situation Miles wasn't in a few years ago, lame duck coach of a team that no longer wants him, and a school wiling to bargain with it to get him.

But if I had any intergrity with a reputation to protect as a media person or reporter, blowing the identity of a source would mean the end of that career, social media or not. But that is why Brian won't touch this without independently confirming any report that basically seeks to blow smoke up everyone's ass in order to gain some brief spotlight in this story.

I fully expect a Harbaugh comment that goes something like "I am still coach of the 49ers. Not interested in coaching and other team." And I'm not sure that will be definitive until an actual press conference that announces a new contract.

It is a lot of speculation, but perhaps this is why Miles came out yesterday and emphatically said he wasn't coming to Michigan. Puzzle pieces coming together.

mates, i need a favor.   'Quiverfull' has become invisible.  I am going to post something from that account and I am asking that you if you see it you please let me know - you don't have to pos-bang it, you might even neg it if you want to, but i can no longer see Quiverfull posts most of the time, and depending on what equip i use.  i noticed it a couple of weeks ago.

as far as i know Quiverfull stayed away from anything overly controversial and hasn't been banhammered, sent to bolivia, etc.   regardless, i would appreciate you letting me know if you see a post closely below this one, and thank you.

i posted two posts, one at 802 and then 803;  first as xtramelanin, second as my old quiverfull.   the second post doesn't show up to most people, including me if i use xtramelanin and regardless of what computer or device i use, including an ipod. 

no change in browsers, so that doesn't seem to make sense either.   i became invisible.  weird.

i can't see it.  noticed a few weeks ago that quiverfull went through a couple of posbangs without the slightest touching.  not neg'd, not anything.  perhaps quiverfull has become unpopular for reasons unknown, but the invisibility thing is weird.

and that's me, as far as i'm aware.  i am on a different computer in another city right now and the quiverfull post of 803 a.m. is invisible to me.  

it would explain why almost every single one of my quiverfull posts went untouched for 3 weeks.  i mean, even a couple of friday posbangs weren't touched and you'd have to try to be that unpopular - something i don't think i've done. 

i'm not a techie at all, so i have no clue how quiverfull got invisible.  i suppose in some walks of life, and if you are a star trek fan, that could be the greatest.

so it seems the source won't be announced today which makes sense. I think I he reveal would have done harm essentially if they were in on the coaching discussions.
