Raddy on Wtka is talking about this right now. I wish Loyd had used a different word. But can't fault him to much Loyd isn't going to attack Tressel we all know that.

I personally don't think it's a big deal to say either thing. Maybe they as coaches have a different perspective than fans. But given the freakout of some people over Dantonio's comment, Carr's is similar enough to be noteworthy to them.

I'd be stunned if Tressel weren't on an NFL sideline at some point next year. Maybe just a scout in Cleveland, like John Cooper pretended to be in Cincy.

After reading countless threads that end up with the conclusion that more blame is to be allocated to Carr than RR for RR's failures, I can only imagine what that photo led some to conclude.

Carr is a man of great integrity.  Although Carr suffered from Tressel's actions at Ohio State, he's not one to hold grudges and would be the first to say that football games are not amongst the more important things in life.  I actually see this as a testament to his character.

Don't get me wrong Carr's my man but what does he mean "we all feel for Jim" What's the sympathy for? Feel for him because he got caught? I'm glad he got caught I HATE OHIO. They lost the right to be called state I bet every highly ranked kid on that roster got paid Smh no wonder Pryor choose them over us we ain't paying kids now that that advantage is over so is that losing stretch we had to them. Jus a coincidence? Ever since he came to Ohio they been reeling in recruits left and right and trust me its not that dam great of a school. Rt

He does feel bad for Tressel.

Unlike many folks on this board most people who know and/or have worked with or competed against Tressel admire him and feel bad that he made an admittedly major mistake.

He was an exceptionally successful coach -- as we know all too well -- a brilliant strategist and master motivator. It says something when Carr and Hoke both say Tressel is a good man. The guy screwed up and paid a terrible price: The loss of the job he loved. That fact is good for Michigan football and the fan base should be satisfied with that fact instead of trying to rationalize how he somehow cheated Michigan into a 1-9 record against him.

Tressel was a brilliant strategist against US.

It was a maddening pattern. Ask OSU fans about this - he more or less rested on his talent against every opponent with vanilla gameplans (leading to some frustrating losses for them, especially in the Pryor era) but he had great curveballs in The Game. We were so outschemed from 2004-06 it was gross.

lloyd was going to say "tremendous!" and then caught himself after the first part got out and substituted the only word he could think of, which was "tragic."

Maybe it was intentional by Coach Carr to get MD's back. Remember in 07 when it was rumored he told Dantonio after the win in EL that it was his last UM-MSU game?  They might be closer than we'd like to admit.

On local news tonight in Columbus, the segment for this story was called "Tressel watches Browns practice."  The film was entirely of Tressel talking to Lloyd Carr, but not once was Carr mentioned by the news reader.  True story.
