Caris Levert's incredible crossover dribble

Submitted by hopkinsdrums on

Just wanted to interrupt this nice MGoBlog evening to show Caris Levert crushing a man's ankles.

Damn. I mostly liked his pause for effect, even though it almost led to a block. Well done Caris. Makes me sad that he wasn't able to perform to his full ability at Michigan, though.

That was awesome! Really glad he hit the shot. A miss would have been waaa waaa. Really happy to see Caris coming up. The young man has an incredible story and I wish him nothing but great success. Go Blue!

My god if i could go back and enjoy those seasons even more than I already did. Some truly special players and a lot of personality between everybody. Burke had a nasty streak in him. Stauskas kind of took that role once Burke left, but it was a little different. Mcgary was just a ball of energy and seemed like a happy go lucky guy. It was amazing watching those guys develop over the years and idk if we'll ever see something quite like that again. So much talent.

Bring in a coach with swag who follows the rules and you'll get those players. Better players than that group possibly. Although I agree, that was a great team. If only they could've been lights out defense too. As for a coach with swag and is a rule follower, have no idea who that coach would be. Could the town of Ann Arbor turn Johnny C. into an honest man? SPEND THE MONEY!!

Hey whipper snapper, check this out!

The '89 team had Rumeal Robinson, Glen Rice, Loy Vought, Terry Mills, Sean Higgins, all drafted 1st round except for Higgins in the second. I think they won a trophy of some sort.

Fab Five...? Always the bridesmaid and never the bride but I think one or two of the guys on this team might have been okay.

It's happened before and will happen again!

In Sunday's "Current Wolverines in the NBA" thread, with videos of recent Caris highlights, I posted how giddy I was that I was going to my very first NBA game the very next night just to see Caris play!   A nor'easter on both ends of the subway, heavy winds and rain, but who cares?  It's worth it to see Caris, our rookie star-in-the-making.

I admit I was a bit concerned that I didn't spot him in warm-ups...   The pregame announcers focused on "the youngsters"... They mention two... (pause)... then, quietly: "Caris Levert is being held out tonight.  They want to rest him."  [They missed him, believe me. But if it's best for the longterm...]

At least I could see him on the bench, and when he stood to high-five his teammates at breaks he was smiling, so I figured they were telling the truth and not covering for an injury set-back.  Pretty snazzy boots he was wearing over his warm-up pants...  Here's hoping that was simply a fashion statement.

Caris has the best chance of becoming the most successful pro player. He has the handles, quickness and shooting ability to stick in the NBA long term. Wished he hadn't gotten hurt in the last two seasons at Michigan.

Beilein hasn't hit on a true gem since that class. More recently, we've had guys underperform their rankings (Irvin, Walton) and way underperform them (Chatman). You're delusional if you think JB hasn't peaked out and will spend the rest of his time here in anything but free fall.
