Can we finally say the "Long Dark Night of the Soul" is finally over?

All I can say is this:  "It feels so GOOD to have a Michigan Defense again!

Legend has it they were at one point. There were banners, hints of an upcoming dogfight. Expectations of a multi-year battle for supremacy over... something about recruiting in New Jersey. Now, of course, Rutgers is curled up and crying, dreading the day Michigan returns. Between Michigan and Ohio State, we may have destroyed the soul of Rutgers football for a long time. They poked the Wolverine. They shouldn't have poked the Wolverine.

It's a bye week, and national media are discussing this game in terms of having "never seen a game so one-sided," so I am going to drop the negative Nancy for a day or two and remember that we are talking about a completely different paradigm now. Two years ago we couldn't beat Rutgers and couldn't make a bowl; now the question is whether or not we can make the playoff and do damage there. And that's pretty cool.

the Big Ten is back to the Big Two and the little nine; Michigan isn't at a level of 'reload' just yet but it's getting there. Michigan State needs a QB; if that doesn't change come October 29 they are going to get demolished. This may not be true in the coming years but it's true this year. The only school in the way of great glory is Ohio State. That game is going to be a monster.

People need to get off the "this isn't the year, not Harbaugh's guys yet, ect". This team has 10 NFL players on it including Peppers, a level of player we might never see again being the athletic freak he is. This team is loaded with talent. Some areas with a little bit to be desired but overall a great team.

the only team between us and glory is Ohio State? How does that not sound like I think we have a great team?

I feel we have a great team, you misunderstood what I wrote. It's funny, I thought the 'let's beat MSU/OSU first' crowd would be the ones to disagree with what I wrote. I was a part of that crowd but Coach Harbaugh has this team playing like world beaters; I don't think MSU has a chance of beating this squad.

It feels good to be back. But we haven't won a thing yet. We haven't won the Big 10 since 2004, and winning it this year will be no easy task. The worst is over, and best is yet to come. But we haven't reached the top of the mountain yet by any means.

Considering we haven't beaten our rivals in years and we haven't won a damn thing yet, then no, I won't say it's over.

I don't care if this season ends 11-2 and we crush USC in the Rose Bowl. If the two losses are to MSU and OSU, this season is an unmitigated failure. Harbaugh would probably tell you the same thing.

Things are good and I think you can feel confident that if we play like we should, our defense should compete with anyone we play. Doing it week in and week out will continue to be a challenge, but the defense is elite. On defense, we should expect to beat MSU and probably OSU this year, although it's debatable. If we don't, it will be due to either key injuries or lack of execution, but not lack of talent as was seen in previous years.

but I just have to say that's one of the funniest misspellings of a word ever. I know you were just typing fast, but I laughed out loud at "complamcey" for some reason.
