Something different about this team. I think we all see it. It looks like a well coached and organized football team. One we haven’t seen In a long time.

I had fun rooting for our team last night. Even if we would have lost.

I think he's probably right, and honestly good on him for just coming out and saying it. There were some obvious disconnects in the previous few seasons either between the players on the team, or the players and the coaches.

Cade was on those teams, and he's worked hard to put himself in position to be the starting quarterback this season. So if he feels like the makeup of the past few teams wouldn't have been able to respond in the moment like this team did, then I see no reason why he shouldn't be able to voice his opinion about it. I only say that because it seemed like in his immediate post game interview he was almost hesitant to say it as the words were coming out of his mouth. I certainly took no issues with it, and hopefully the coaches wouldn't either.

It got the impression when he said it, that the comment was aimed perhaps at some of the coaches (possibly players) who left?  Like it was some inference to a toxic culture that permeated throughout the program at the time.

It was a solid point.  More times than I care to count in the past, where the team lost the lead or there weren't any adjustments.  Acknowledging seems like a change in the mindset.  Which I found welcoming.

Nebraska gave us their best punch, they took the lead, and we responded in a hostile environment.

This is going to be a huge experience for the upcoming games in East Lansing and Happy Valley.  Especially if they are night games.

He's right.

Rutger game reeked of panic, however, when wheels started coming off in the second half.

The drives yesterday, on the road, in a hostile environment after blowing a big lead and blowing multiple opportunities to extend that lead showed some grit, belief , and poise we haven't seen from Harbaugh UM teams.  Was a pleasant surprise.

That said, I'd like to see us start executing and stomping on throats when in the position to do so...like going into the half yesterday we could have easily been up 20+ points.

Nice to see resilience...killer instinct would be cool too.

i said it before, but i was tremendously impressed with his poise, calm and maturity during that interview.  literally seconds after finishing the most exciting and emotional game of his college career and he's giving an interview like he's a 40 yr old, not a 20 or 21 yr old.  i'm guessing the coaches see that intangible too, and that is another reason he plays while JJ gets some seasoning in and bides his time.

I liked it, Cade has the credibility to make these kinds of statements based on his play and duration on the team.  We may as we just be open about the challenges the program has faced, its no big secret.  As far as past teams, well, their record is public knowledge.

I mean, I dont disagree with him. Cade is the type of person you want leading your team. Leadership goes a long ways. Skill, talent, accuracy etc are all important. We are miles ahead of where we were with Milton even if Cade doesnt have the arm talent.

I found his comments refreshing and telling it how it is instead of the typical vanilla comments you hear. Nice to see the QB1 taking ownership and being up front. The culture amongst the program has significantly changed.

Harbaugh's first two teams at UM would have defeated Nebraska last night.  His past three would have lost.  Thankfully, this team feels more like his first two teams.

"we decided we are going to finish"  was a welcome comment. That commitment is the message of a fighting team who has purpose not to fold or stop fighting till the scoreboard strikes 0 time.  I look forward to that commitment this season. Perhaps they start that new culture of fighting for the W for teams to come.

Or maybe this is a game scott frost loses whether it’s Michigan or Michigan state. Michigan was the better team for most but not all of the game. Nebraska absolutely outplayed msu but in Nebraska Frost fashion found a way to lose.

Ok  guys I get that we all think that, but saying this year is different is completely opposed the most of the teams message that we haven't won shit yet. Am I crazy in thinking that saying this year is different is the same old shit?

Jamie Morris clapped back at him on Twitter for saying this, which I thought was uncool. If he had an issue, he should've reached out to him privately or through Harbaugh or another connection in the athletic department. Twitter's no place for that.

I would assume that Jamie Morris would argue that a postgame interview is no place for Cade's comments. He did it in a public forum, why shouldn't Jamie?

I'm not excusing it. I didn't like either of them. But I can't get made at Jamie Morris, but then let Cade slide for shitting on his teammates on national TV.

I get that he has a chip on his shoulder, he's the underdog, no one believes in him or his team...HOWEVER, no need to shit on anyone when you could easily just say "this is the closest team that I've ever been part of."

That implies everything Cade said without him actually saying it.

That said (see what I did there?)...none of it really matters, its not even that serious. Go win football games.

Jamie may have a point but he then turned around and did the same thing -- aired something out in public that was maybe better said in private. My take on Cade was that it was an emotional moment and sometimes words come out in ways you didn't intend. I'm sure he hears the criticism and the calls for JJ McCarthy, gets frustrated and feels the need to defend himself. Jamie's an elder statesman and could've been the role model.

As I've said. I don't love shitting on your former teammates in that setting...seemed unnecessary.

That said, there wasn't a single lie spoken.

I don't think you need to be a early career Tom Brady robot. I just didn't feel like he needed to put the past down to lift this team up. They're lifting themselves up just fine with their play on the field.

But again, he didn't say anything crazy or untrue. So I don't think you can be mad at him for stating a fact.

Just the fact that Cade had the confidence to publicly acknowledge the stigma that had surrounded the program since at least Michigan’s fortunes and Ohio State’s diverged in opposite directions during the Tressel years is a positive development. It suggests that this year’s team has the mental fortitude to confront uncomfortable truths and even embrace them to serve as motivation to change the narrative. Playing with a little chip in their shoulders can do wonders. It certainly has worked for Michigan State at times.

I didnt take this comment as Cade shitting on anybody, I took it as this team has GROWN. Some guys left but a good majority are still around.
