Reggie Bush took money, these guys are on roids, Carroll must be running a loose program! They should be sentenced to 10 years of football misery!

Well, for one, Gholston never beat Jake w/ consistency. Gholston was on the RT nearly the entire game (IIRC it was a redshirt freshman Schilling). I believe there was one instance when he beat Jake on his few go-rounds at him. Eventually a smaller guy with better starting leverage is going to beat even the best LTs every once in a while... especially a first round DE.

I went to Cushings rival highschool and one of my buddies who was playing him said he got bigger and bigger every year of HS, he was pegged as a steroid user since his junior year in HS.

Long-time lurker, but this post prompted an enrollment. So: 1. This story has been completely debunked. The original site pulled the story off their site due to being flat wrong. This doesn't mean Cushing and Mathews never used - it means they have not tested positive. 2. If anyone here thinks that a significant portion of the Michigan football team (or any Division 1 college football team) does not use PED's, they have their head 80 miles in the sand. People are all a-twitter about the awesomeness of Barwis, and how people gained pounds and pounds of straight muscle, but refuse to ignore the enormous elephant in order to look at the small sand-pit Barwis put in the corner of the room. I'm not saying that all of Michigan's physical gains have been ill-gotten, and I'm not saying that Barwis gives kids PED's, but ANYTIME you hear about someone gaining all this weight in sheer muscle in a short period of time, it's intellectually dishonest to not at least acknowledge the possibility of PED use. 3. The NFL, we can assume, has a large portion of PED users. So, if Cushing and Mathews used, and much the NFL uses...so what? Until people want to have an honest discussion about the ubiquitous nature of PEDs at every level of athletic competition, it's beyond hypocritical to point at individual cases of a school who had handed our ass to us repeatedly in the past few years and scream that the program is dirty.

I'm not claming any inside information about the Michigan football team, but they really haven't got a whole lot "bigger." Some of them have got stronger, but a lot of them have actually lost weight. Besides that, it's really not that difficult to put on weight in a college program. I was able to change my body significantly over the course of a couple months by eating right and working out consistently, and I have a full-time job, so I'm not in the gym 24 hours a day. When kids are part of a program where they're told/given what to eat and lift consistently, they can change their bodies pretty easily.

This is exactly the type of ill-informed and ignorant post that gives all elite athletes a bad name. There is not one shred of fact in this post; just your OPINION. An opinion that effectively slanders not only the players, but also the strength and conditioning program. The fact that you so easily dismiss the gains (note that I did not say increase in size, because that would be untrue) under the Barwis program means that you do not understand the first thing about the difference in the type of program that he employs from a lot of other S/C programs. Your post is the height of irresponsibility because you attempt to portray your uninformed, ignorant OPINION as fact. Until you can provide one actual fact to support your OPINION you need to shut the fuck up.
