Brandon Watson absorbed cheap shot in front of ref, no call
Doesn't surprise me one iota by who it was by.
The slime buckets must pay. Because more and more is coming out showing that the fix was in.
People called me a whiner for calling out the terrible officiating last year across all sports. Ever since Harbaugh was hired, we have been targeted by this conference.
Maybe it's time we fight back and throw our weight around before this happens again.
Harbaugh doesn't put up with the BULLSHIT. And he's targeted because of that. You are ignorant if you deny that there is no pattern of there being terribly one-sided officiating in our games since he has taken over.

You can hear the whistle blow right after that. While it looks bad, it was still a live ball scenario and Watson was fair game. The play is no different than a QB or punter getting blown up on a return when they aren't paying attention.
While there are things to complain about with the refs this game, this wasn't one of them.

This is irrelevant. Textbook defenseless player.

Lots of penalties called this year for hitting penn st kicker who goes like 3 bills

Yeah that's the only measure of whether a hit is legal, okay. So one of our OL could just run over a DB from the back if the whistle hadn't blown yet? Surely that'll go well.
November 27th, 2016 at 7:58 PM ^
Also he's clearly butthurt that we got an interception. That's a cheap shot and not a clean block. Why would a defensive player (which he was after Peppers caught the ball) be blocking anyway?
November 27th, 2016 at 8:10 PM ^
Weber can't just hit a defensive guy in the back without a penalty during the play. No?
November 27th, 2016 at 10:28 PM ^
I agree that the whistle hadn't been blown yet and. in a sense, he was a fair target in a live-ball scenario and Watson should've kept his guard up. Because of that I could understand not throwing a flag. But, it was also away from the play and totally unnecessary. Very easily could've been flagged for unnecessary roughness. I think common sense dictates: call the penalty. It was the kind of play that this crew overlooked all day and to the detriment of the game (and their own careers).
November 27th, 2016 at 10:35 PM ^
but it IS a penalty to pick off players from the pile before the whistle blows (no this isn't that, but an example of where the whistle doesn't matter). Also, why is he blocking what was now an offensive player? If he thought the play was still ongoing, don't you think he would be trying to tackle Peppers and not take out a guy standing next to the guy being tackled? It is targeting a defenseless player.
November 27th, 2016 at 10:48 PM ^
NCAA Rule 9, Article 12b, "Contact Against an Opponent Out of the Play":
No player shall run into or throw himself against an opponent obviously out of the play either before or after the ball is dead.
November 27th, 2016 at 11:16 PM ^
He was defenseless. Mike Weber is a piece of shit. No wonder he went to OSU. I hope he gets blindsided and KO'd in the playoffs
November 27th, 2016 at 7:34 PM ^
As I remember #54 smacked him in the helmet just after the clip you have - not all that bad but usually called. Agree that the refs are being immature dicks to JH... they don't like their mistakes openly exposed... the penalty for flipping his play chart was the biggest joke of all.
November 27th, 2016 at 6:57 PM ^
Damn.
November 27th, 2016 at 6:59 PM ^
Is that the same ref that gave him a love tap on the sideline?

That umpire is looking right at it. That's maybe the worst I've seen.
November 27th, 2016 at 7:01 PM ^
Wow,this game was straight absurd. Makes me angrier and angrier.

When he was screaming in my face, "WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO" after the Samuels TD, right after I shook his hand and said, "however this ends, it's an amazing game"...
I thought about all the vile acts I do with his daughter and felt immediately better.

show up at his house next Halloween dressed as a referee and with his daughter dressed in a Michigan uniform. The look on his face should be priceless.

November 27th, 2016 at 8:37 PM ^
Well he's an OSU fan so you will probably have to explain to him, very slowly, that in this scenario the ref is still fucking Michigan/his daughter
November 27th, 2016 at 9:30 PM ^
Then wait while he tries to sort out which one of his siblings' child you are.
November 27th, 2016 at 8:04 PM ^
Nothing but future trouble. You are unequally yoked. trust me two of my friends married Ohio State women and it has been nothing but miserable for them. Miserable. Don't do it.
November 27th, 2016 at 7:01 PM ^
I can't remember when, but he was down on the ground for a while. It was a blindside hit/block IIRC.
November 27th, 2016 at 10:41 PM ^
Glasgow was at least on defense and pursuing the ball carrier. I would have taken that shot all day if I still played. I think that one was just a football hurts sometimes, but I would like to see the hit a tad lower.
November 27th, 2016 at 10:54 PM ^
it was high, and very close to blind side. On reply it looked like Glasgow was just able to see it coming at the last millisecond due to turning. I was upset because it was borderline cheap regardless on a guy trailing the play and not getting there, but not surprised at the no-call live.
The cheapshot by Weber made me jump out of my seat with disgust. Not only was it against a defenseless player, it was 100% from behind.
November 27th, 2016 at 7:01 PM ^
Glasgow block in the back has also gone pretty unnoticed

Jesus farting clambakes. Before I saw that I figured the ref ranting (mine own included) was 65% salty righteous indignation because we lost and 35% legit gripes - but can you honestly tell me that if the uniforms had been switched there'd have been no flag thrown?
November 27th, 2016 at 7:03 PM ^
He also punched Kinnel in the facemask leter in the game. Glad he went to OSU. Looking forward to curb stomping them at home next year.

Actually a flag was thrown, but it was on MSU. They penalized the msu player for knocking Weber's arm away.

so I'll summarize
Offense:
- Wilton mostly good. Sometimes terrible
- Run game terrible
- So WTF was the point of the Pepcat this whole time?
Defense:
- Don Brown earned his paycheck by thoroughly owning Urban
- Defense got gassed late
Penalties killed us. Refs -1000
