to give him a chance to play at an extremely high level for however long he plays. I am not certain though, other than diet, what he does, i.e., unconventional excercise methods which I would think would rely heavily on stretching as much as possible and  training with nonresistant equipment, even though maintaining a certain level of strentgh is, of course, necessary

I hope he does. He has, like stated, put in as much effort as anyone I've heard of and it has to be predicated mainly on love for the game. He could retire now with a beautiful wife, nice family, as much money as he'll ever need and an invitation from Harbaugh to become his qb coach What else is there.

But he is human, and when it goes it goes. I'm sure his attention to keeping his body at maximum performance level will pay off, but damn, 46, 47? Bill B has provided him with a lot less hits than most qbs would be subjected to, but I think a large part of that has to do with just how damn efficient the system is. They ask you, as a cover man to maintain for 2.5 to 3 seconds and the Pats gained 10 yds using half that time. As someone astutely stated and answers multiple questions, Tom Frickin Brady.  Sorry misread that. But yeah.....

I love Michigan and the connection to Brady. No matter what NCAA football team ever says about putting players into the NFL we always have the GOAT trump ready to be thrown out.

but.. 6-7 years? I don't ever want to see Brady go through the struggles that once great players go through when they've went too far trying to prolong a career. Not only that but all it takes is one big hit. No matter what he's doing to stay in shape and diet etc his body just can't repair itself like it used to.

I like what they did getting him Cooks but they better continue to "build him a f'ing wall" and keep him clean.

He rarely gets hit or sacked in the game. Usually he takes a short drop and zings quick passes out. I doubt his body has taken nearly the beating a lot of other NFL QBs have

Yeah well, in pre marriage counseling my wife said 1-2 times a week was an appropriate number for sex. I won't be surprised if Brady doesn't quite live up to his estimate either...

Having conquered the world again.  But highly unlikely the GOAT plays that long.  He'll get bored of it all by then.  No one will ever match what he's done.  Whenever he decides to hang it up, he's had a truly amazing career.

I will admit, I would love to see Brady at least try to achieve that. I can think of several quarterbacks that made it into their forties like Brunell, Morral, Flutie and quite a few others, but I can't think of a QB that made it that deep into their forties. I could very well be missing something, but it would be neat to see longevity of the Blanda variety at another position.

I would like to play quarterback in the NFL for the next 6-7 years as well.  I think Tom and I probably have the same odds of fulfilling our goals...

but that is an awful long time to be playing that position.  I can see two more really competitive years, perhaps three.  Remember, he played only 12 regular season games this year, which we have to assume made a difference in the playoffs.  If anyone can do it, he can, but I think this is a real stretch.

I sure hope he can do it, but not at the cost of his health. At his age, or at any age for that matter, all it takes is one hit to end your career.

Would sure love to see him add a few more rings to the collection, but if a doctor tells him that it will be a detriment to his long-term health, he probably ought to hang up the pads.
