Sometimes, you have a bad, bad day.

We had one today.  Georgia had one against Alabama.  Ohio State had one against us.  Alabama had one against unranked Texas A&M.  Clemson had one against NC State, and one against Pitt.  Ohio State teams of the past had ones against Alabama and Clemson (despite Ohio State being loaded with 5 stars and winning coaches).

I think we have good players and coaches.  We'll have our chances to do well.  And we'll see what the future brings.

I agree with you mostly, however today showed we need a more dynamic QB going forward, Cade is just poor at handling any kind of elite blitz that gets through, almost no ability to escape and not lose 5 or 6 on a sack. This is JJ’s job to lose in the spring/fall I believe. Also, our mixture of youth at LB (those are the athletic guys) and lack of lateral speed from Ross (our experienced guy) showed major today as UGA could hit the edges no problem, and no one gave Colson any help on those RB routes downfield (I have to wonder if Dax’s lack of prep with the team in practice had anything to do with some of the lateral plays we saw and those RB routes, he seemed almost absent in those plays)

Our CB’s could take a step up, but honestly the only bad play they had was Vincent Gray and he had position then just decided to stop for some reason like he thought the ball was underthrown, but needs a step up for sure in man coverage when playing a play-action team that puts them on islands. They did a great job of keeping OSU in front of them, and DJ Turner and Gemon Green are pretty good in man, just need another to step up next year in man coverage, Vincent Gray has a serious ceiling in that department.

The pieces I believe are there on the roster already (lots of it young at LB and CB), and incoming in future classes too, just hope we can sustain this level of play and better, and make the playoffs on a fairly regular basis.

Also, as much as I have loved Vastardis, Oluwitame should be a big upgrade next year helping that with that A gap stuff.

This is reactionary bullshit.

Cade was ELITE at evading the rush, all season long. Against every team, except last night. Our OL didn't play very well, nor did Cade, or Corum, or All, or basically the entire defense...

But yes, blame the QB who is the fucking reason we were in this game to begin with.

Clowns.

We will be back. We need to recruit a little better, which should improve after this season.

Go Blue.

So it goes.

He contributed and he believes.

We’ve taken them on the chin many times before this year (ahem, por ejemplo, the 2002 Citrus Bowl, against Rocky Top, which sparked my antagonistic stance toward the SEC) and yet we won the conference this year. Our way.

I still believe in this program.

In the words of a familiar mob classic, "It’s the life we chose.”

Go Blue forever.

First class guy and he'll back it up. One thing you won't hear from him are lame excuses like what Ohio State said after their loss to Michigan-we had the flu.

Keep working Blake and be the next team leader (and best)!

Good for Corrum. With that said Edwards clear #1 back next year especially against talented teams

That's the attitude you want. He will put in the work in the offseason to make himself as good as he can be, and he will encourage others in the same way. When they get back in the CFP next season, that will also help Michigan tremendously in recruiting the kind of players that will help them play even with the Alabama's and Georgia's of the college football world.

This guy is a true Blue. He is all around a great person. And he’s a leader. What you want a graduate of Michigan to be like, and he’s living it now. I like his approach to yesterday. Got hit, and back up faster and ready to go for the next time.

Go blue everyone!

JH got dealt the worst hand possible when he arrived. It has taken longer than any of us wanted, especially him, to get where we are now. But there is no upgrade. He is the best coach M could possibly have right now. And as far as trending in the right direction, no, no one has it better than us. Blake, yes, those who stay...

We have a favorable schedule in some part next year too. At Iowa not so good but look at the September to help JJ develop under pressure as the starter.

It's going to be a lot more 37-31 games next year vs. 21-17, 20-13, etc. Blake will be a big part of it.

UM needs guys to flip the switch and start thinking about next year just like AH did immediately after last year. There is going to be a void that needs filled when it comes to leadership and guys like BC and JJ are going to need to fill it.

I think JJ will fill it as well. He’s ready to not just be “the guy” on the field but also a true leader. You can tell he has the magic and people will follow him.

I like Corum's statement and potential indication that the team will show up during the 2022 season as united and prepared, ney, expectant, to win as they did in 2021. But let's be real .........

Stars matter and Alabama and UGA are in a different universe re talent. This M team was a team that played beyond it's talent level in 2021 but the stark difference between being elite and being just good was no where more evident than last night in Hardrock Stadium.

Optimistically, M can build a more talented roster by continuing to win but until it does that consistently and attracts top talent, you saw the ceiling last night. The wild card in assessing M's chances for championships beyond the BIG is NIL, the portal and the implication of play-off expansion along with the kind of realignment of NCAA football that realignment portends.

weirder to me why people are down on Corum for saying it...

The goal is always to get the CFB playoffs and win the B1G.

Setting goals is a necessary precursor to achieving them...If the team puts in the work they did this year, making the CFB playoffs is possible.

Hopefully, this loss will fuel the team like the 2-4 season did.

I will say that, despite the early 14-0 deficit and all, when I knew we were really in trouble was when "340 lb" Jordan Davis beat Blake Corum to the edge on a 1st half handoff. *gulp*

It wasn't Blake's best outing (against a really tough defense), but he's been a great player and a positive force in our program (from the workout vids to the turkey giveaways). I am excited to see him and Donovan Edwards do lightning and lightning next season.

Did Hutchinson have any tackles? I know he had penalties but doesn't his draft stock drop after that performance. I saw him get pancaked several times. It was like Devin Bush against OSU a few years back, did nothing at all in the big game.
