(Edit) ps: I just posted "how-to" instructions downthread for including a link within your post when posting from your phone. Hope it helps!
Me too.
Interviewer: "Does anything make you nervous?"
Pitcher: ...long pause...sideways glance...."Caves"
What an interview gem. Thanks for sharing.
My fav part was definitely "...caves... mainly" implying there were a few other, less important things that also make him nervous. I wish he would've gone into more detail. "Caves... mainly. But also Area 51, people who squeeze toothpaste from the middle, those vending machines where you put in a quarter and get a gumball. But mainly caves".
I mean, same! Caves are scary!
That was awesome!
Jim Rome and Jim Everitt stands the test of time.
That new wall poster is cool.
Another great interview for very different reasons. lol
My life is better having watched it. Thank you for sharing OP!
Here's my all-time favorite baseball interview, but first, how to embed a youtube link within your post from your phone:
First copy the link. Then find, at the top edge of the posting window, the icon that looks like a chain link ?. Click there, it opens up a smaller box titled "add link", click within the box to establish your cursor. Now click on "paste" and the link appears, and hit "save" on the bottom right of that smaller box.
Now complete your post and as always, hit "save" on the main window and you're in business!
(Warning: audio on this one is NSFW. Enjoy this Cubbies Classic!)
"My dogs think I'm awesome."
I would hire this guy. I have no idea for what role, but I would hire this guy.
It was fun for the first part, I started cracking up at "I'm sorry I sweared." It was reminiscent of Alan from the Hangover. But I think the announcers ruined it by bringing up Kenny Powers - they made it too self-aware, like they were in on the joke too and had to let everyone know. PSA to broadcasters/interviewers: you'll do much better in situations like these if you stay straight and let the college athlete have all the fun and spotlight on himself.
I still love that one coach who, when asked to comment about his team's execution after a particularly putrid loss, said: "I'm for it"
Sounds like something Yogi Berra would say.
It's like a baseball version of Ben Mason and Mike Leach
I am happy you brought this into my life
This was the best sports interview ever
I agree completely
He spent a while on Dippin' Dots.
....and yet, it was fine. It made total sense in its own way and that's part of what made it.
This is classic, pure Tommy Lasorda. Only one that may have been better would be a hypothetical of Tommy reacting to some Vineyard Vines polo shirt pencil neck geek coming down from the analytics room to tell him to remove a pitcher was was dealing like Snell was last year in the WS. That would be AWESOME!!

Belichick's "we're onto Cincinnati" is pretty good too!
That was up there with the Derrick Lewis 'my balls was hot' interview.
