Bench Mob Appreciation thread

Jace Howard and the Bench mob are on point.  I watched "the resuscitation" 3 times.  Hats off to these kids who bust their ass in practice and have fun celebrating their teammates.

Also, someone just pointed out on twitter that Michigan's third most frequent lineup combination in the last five games has been the bench warmer lineup.  That's right....our lineup at the end of blowouts is the third most frequently used.  Insane.....

Need a crowd somewhere. Just being there for each other. I loved it. It wasn’t classless either; just fun loving cheering. Imagine a crowd for this display.

The bench is killing it this year with their energy and drive. It’s adding that sixth man factor and boy are they having fun! These kids clearly love playing for Juwan. The guy really is a players coach. It was evident in his first season when zero players transfusion he took the job. You know the first game against App state I was a little nervous because he looked like he was in over his head. But my goodness now he looks like an expert out there coaching them up in the huddle and making halftime adjustments. Love It!!

Love it - hoping that we don't get a technical in the future because of it.

Edit:  This is better promotional material than any recruiting visit.

It would be soooo much fun to have fans at these games right now.

But it's a blast seeing all the bench players getting into the games, doing cheers, our own student section.

From the start of the game - they were up cheering on the team. I think I saw some coordinated chants very early that seemed to have an impact.

Overall energy level from this team is insanely good. Every player shows up like they are a part of the bench mob and every moment matters more than any of us can imagine. So much fun to watch.

You beat me to it with this thread.

I think that what we're seeing this year with both football and basketball is that certain teams have risen to the occasion with empty arenas and stadiums, and certain teams have floundered. We know how our football team fared. Indiana, on the other hand, thrived. With no energy coming from the fans, you have to find it from somewhere else.

Our basketball team has found it from somewhere else. Our bench's off-court performance has been every bit as valuable as Hunter Dickinson's on-court performance.

This is a clinic in how a college program should operate.

And it’s not just the bench mob creating energy. When they are on the floor, the starters are showing their love. Recall Jace’s first M points against MD and how crazy the starters got.

I visited a Wisconsin Badger blog and they were talking about the energy from the Michigan bench. They said Wisconsin just doesn't really have those types of players in their starting lineup or bench.

They felt the bench does help Michigan play better, especially during these COVID-19 times with not much crowd support.

Those guys are awesome and hilarious!

I'm watching this season with my dad, and we were laughing it up and loving when we get to see those guys.

They are quite impressive in their humor and technique!

I love the enthusiasm and the performance of it.

It's also great that we're finally shifting away from the fusty notion that sports at all times require decorum, that athletes should always act like modest characters in polite domestic dramas.

Besides providing energy at home games in lieu of fans, this should tip road games in their favor as well. With this much energy every game can feel like a home game!
