I'm aware of the Lions/Basketball thread, but I wanted this to get it's own thread. We've won the tip. Discuss.

Creighton is playing out of their heads right now, we just need to ride this out a little bit- They have not had an answer for Sims in the post, and Manny's not hitting the jumper so he needs to attack the basket

he drives. If you watch slasher types who draw lots of fouls, they usually hold the ball with one hand protecting the front of it, i.e. he side facing the basket. This makes it very difficult for a defender to get a hand on the ball. Manu Ginobili and LBJ are great examples of this. Manny seems to often leave the front of the ball open and then defenders are able to get a hand on it even when they are fouling him as well. When a defender gets a hand on the ball, the ref is likely to give him the benefit of the call.

It seems like we are just trying to draw fouls on every shot which either results in a bad shot with no call, or we get to the line where we are 50%. Not going to get it done.

I always have trouble explaining to people back home why our cheer is "lets go blue" when our uniforms are neon yellow.. when we're playing against a team that wears blue.. it just makes it awkward..

First, way to finish strong down the stretch. Second, this game has exposed a lot of things that we need to work on. ...defensively, way too much dribble penetration/guys popping up wide open underneath the basket. ...offensively, free throws need to be worked on. way too many stagnant/low energy streaks as well. when our defense isn't creating opportunities, we had nothing but deep balls. manny and sims have got to be more aggressive at these points. can't always rely on the three.

I think we showed that we've got that grittiness from last year but also i think that we have the talent to beat good teams- A couple things though, some poor decisions on shots at the stagnant points in the games- Manny did not look great but did enough, and if Perry/Novak/Douglass are going to contribute offense, we've got a pretty bright outlook this year I think Will we get anyone help us with some size (other than Gibson?) I hear about Morgan and Cronin but wonder if we will ever see those guys
