Yeah, this is my worry, and I don't think an extension gets it done. FSU and Texas are probably THE premier programs in college baseball. FSU has a crazy rabid fanbase that just shows for baseball. They're known throughout college baseball for this. They have great facilities and, of course, it's Florida so it's always baseball weather outside. And there isn't as much pressure as you'd think in taking over for Martin since, for all his CWS appearances and all-American players, he's never won the damn thing. So they're starved for new blood, not a continuation of the current state of things. If FSU calls, Bakich will take that call. And I don't think he could or would turn them down of they offered.
Then at least beat their ass on the way out the door if we face them.
I'm sure Bakich blackmailed them into giving him this award to make sure the MGOBOARD malconents attempt to get him fired gets thwarted. His dastardly plan seems to be working.
We should fire him before he asks for a better contract and causes our athletic department to go bankrupt.

So for the last 12 years, if a B1G team makes the CWS, their coach is coach of the year. Logical. As a note regarding Michigan baseball coaches, reading the wikipedia on Ray Fisher is fascinating.
Time to fire him? Hasn’t he already been fired several times, just in the post-season alone? That’s what makes this award so amazing.
