I know you have been dying to post this. Haha...

So Vlad, given there are no elections in the west at the moment to meddle with, you've turned your attention to fucking up Michigan football?
An aside...I am ever so grateful to Brian Cook and company for providing a forum by which I can directly communicate with the ever entertaining though totally villainous Vladimir Putin. In his Mgoblog persona Vlad is clearly channeling Snidely Whiplash.

I am addicted to internecine conflict and palace intrigue. After geopolitics, Michigan football is the next best way to get my fix.
December 7th, 2020 at 11:28 AM ^
Don't know if I'm the only one that does this, but I read all your posts in a Russian accent. And "Michigan football is next best way to get fix" in a Russian accent is hilarious.

Can you hear it coming out of this guys mouth?
December 7th, 2020 at 7:39 PM ^
Ah! Moose & Squirell have been inquiring about you.
December 7th, 2020 at 12:02 PM ^
I read them in the accent of Hans Gruber, coming through a walkie-talkie.
Yes, I know it's the wrong ethnic group, but at least I know he's going to eventually fall from the Nakatomi Building. Unlike the tosu game, that's something to look forward to.

If we’re doing movie villains, it’s gotta be Teddy KGB, right? With the election over, Vlad must be feeling so unsyatisfied

I am crazy so call it as you see it but I am slightly convinced that our Comrade is, in fact, Brian's burner.
December 7th, 2020 at 10:45 AM ^
This sums it up perfectly. The longer Warde/Harbaugh wait the more damage being done. The only way waiting another day or two makes sense is if they're announcing that Harbaugh is not coming back and name the next coach, otherwise, it just makes matters worse.
December 7th, 2020 at 11:18 AM ^
If Harbaugh is let go/parts ways, you won’t hear a new guy get announced. None of the top candidates are leaving other jobs mid-season. Nobody on our staff is getting the gig if Harbaugh is gone.
December 7th, 2020 at 11:47 AM ^
I get that but if there is a parting of ways and they don't have a coach lined up just means losing recruits. With early signing day now a thing, you cannot wait 3+ weeks after the season for a replacement.
December 7th, 2020 at 12:40 PM ^
Recruits are gonna leave either way. You cant have this type of season and not lose some.
December 7th, 2020 at 2:27 PM ^
Yes they definitely don’t have someone lined up. Seriously doubt they have even reached out to someone yet. Probably just been talking to Jim and trying to figure out what to do
I would guess any extension talks with JH are probably around no raise or even a pay cut and the need to make several changes among his staff. They have probably laid out that type of extension and told him they need a decision by such a date and from what Bacon is saying it’s probably something like the 8th
December 7th, 2020 at 3:51 PM ^
Urban Meyer is not in the middle of anything currently.
December 7th, 2020 at 11:23 AM ^
Unless they're going with someone outside of the top 2-3 candidates, it would be insane for guys like Fickell or Campbell to leave their teams right now, which makes it unlikely UM would be announcing a new hire if they fired Harbaugh.
December 7th, 2020 at 11:39 AM ^
Never doubt the power of Michigan Arrogance. It's caused this 13 year tailspin.
December 7th, 2020 at 12:29 PM ^
Has in only been 13 years? It feels a lot longer than that, almost like this whole thing started when they fired Bobby Layne as head coach.
December 7th, 2020 at 11:41 AM ^
Matt Patricia, Jim Caldwell among others that are immediately available.
December 7th, 2020 at 1:36 PM ^
That’s a brilliant response because these two are polar bear opposites!!!
December 7th, 2020 at 6:48 PM ^
Say what you want about Jim Caldwell but he won at Lambeau twice in four years. I wouldn't be excited about that hire, but he's not as bad as he's made out to be in some circles.
December 7th, 2020 at 11:41 AM ^
What it does tell me, assuming it’s accurate, is that we won’t be playing the Game this weekend. I see no way they fire Harbaugh/he steps down just days before The Game, and idk that announcing the extension right before a 50 point ass whooping is the best idea either.
The fact that they’re dragging it out tells me that nothing has been signed yet either. If it had, there’s no benefit in waiting to say “we signed an extension a couple weeks ago.”
December 7th, 2020 at 11:48 AM ^
I saw some reports (nothing official or “verified”) on Reddit last night saying that The Game has already been canceled and that Fox was already made aware and it would be officially announced on like Wednesday this week as the normal Monday presser with Harbaugh had been canceled.
Take that for everything it’s worth

JonnyHintz, I think you are correct. I believe we are in for the worst case scenario. Michigan will not play Saturday. Harbaugh will save face and not get another historic arse kicking. The Michigan AD will blame the pandemic for a crazy season. Harbaugh will get an extension. Michigan Football will plummet further into mediocrity.
December 7th, 2020 at 11:49 AM ^
The only way Harbaugh gets canned in this administration is if he is caught with a co-ed or cheats.
December 7th, 2020 at 3:49 PM ^
If he starts to cheat, keep him.

December 7th, 2020 at 10:24 AM ^
Not sure what is “good”. If Harbaugh stays...we are in the same place we were. If Harbaugh leaves...then even the most perfect fit as Coach at Michigan couldn’t totally fix this program. Either outcome is sad.
December 7th, 2020 at 10:26 AM ^
"Good" is knowing the direction we are headed. If you want to be all doom and gloom, that's fine. But if there's no way out for the program, as you see it, then we might as well figure out which way to dig.
December 7th, 2020 at 11:24 AM ^
LOL...the “direction we are headed” and “doom and gloom”.
I graduated in ‘98 when Michigan won a National Championship at the Rose Bowl and Woodson won the Heisman. We have had 3 coaches since Carr...a coaching decision isn’t going to change the direction we are heading...we have seen that several times now.
And Doom and Gloom...when I graduated, I think Michigan was 54-34-6 against Ohio State. We are now 58-51-6 against Ohio State. Of the 4 Michigan wins since I graduated 3 were when Carr was still the head Coach! So the only W against Ohio State by any Coach not name Carr (Rodriguez/Hoke/Harbaigh combined) was against Luke Fickell by Hoke.
Ohio State has won the last 8 games, 15 of the last 16. Urbz/Day have never lost to Michigan, Rodriguez/Harbaugh have never beaten Ohio State. So Doom and Gloom started when we lost to Appalachian State, Carr retired and the Rodriguez coaching debacle began.
December 7th, 2020 at 12:26 PM ^
No, it was only apparent to all at that point. It started earlier on, and those last few pre-RR years ate up a significant amount of the remaining cushion that had been laid in the program's foundation.
December 7th, 2020 at 12:37 PM ^
I graduated in 1999, so we where that at the same time. I agree with you totally. Once Tressel was hired and Michigan went through the Chris Webber thing, everything changed with the respect to winning. No coach will fix it. It is what it is. OSU has decided them they will do whatever it takes to win, Michigan has not made that decision. None of the recent coaches at OSU have left without controversy. Michigan does not want that. If they didn’t care, you would be crazy not to hire Urban Meyer. He is by far the best coach available. Michigan and most of the fan base don’t want his baggage that he brings.
December 7th, 2020 at 12:58 PM ^
I, for one, am willing to take the baggage he brings if he also brings some natties
