Aramide Olaniyan Officially Decommits from Duke
Made it offical this morning, not really big news since it was almost common knowledge that he opened things back up, but this definitely looks good for us in a position of great need.

That is great news. Solid player.

I am loving me some Amaride. Here's where the good season will make a difference - good players at positions of need that hadn't yet ruled Michigan out.
Most of the benefit of our return to the national stage will be in '11, but there are guys now who have Michigan in play and see that RR runs a meritocracy - if you have skill, you play. Craig Roh has to be an absolute shout out to these players as he, despite appearing not to be ready size-wise, is having a great impact.
Come on down.

C'mon down Aramide!! 4 years of domination and bad chemistry related puns awaits you.

Step One: It Starts
I don't think I've ever seen this kind of excitement surrounding the program before. I'm just along for the ride.

Isn't his name Aramide?
September 21st, 2009 at 9:50 AM ^
If he's a stud linebacker, his name can be High King Maximus the Magnificent.

I know you think you just pulled that out of your ass, but High King Maximus the Magnificent is pretty damn close to what Aramide means in Sanskrit! Of course, Aramide isn't a Sanskrit name or word, but it if it WERE, that is what it would mean, according to my soon-to-be-published "Dictionary of Mis-Translation: How to Impress people with the use of Ancient, Dead Languages (Hell, The Dumb Fuckers Can Barely Handle English!)"
Long title, amazing results.

Anyone know the pronunciation of his name (first and last)?
In my head I say it, "Are-uh-me-day Oh-la-ni-yen."

That's right.

We could really really use victories over Penn State and Michigan State this year. If nothing else, it will give us some big time momentum recruiting against these schools for the '11 class.

the environment at the ND game. Putting yourself in his shoes and seeing the place rock like that in a last second win, he had to have been impressed. No disrespect to Duke, but they simply can't compete with that.

Yes, this can't be good for recruit morale...

Is he taking any other visits? Or is it just a matter of time now for us?
September 21st, 2009 at 10:16 AM ^
He's supposed to take other visits. Possibly to UCLA and North Carolina. We'll see what happens.

We really need some linebackers... This is good news so far, but let's get him to sign that LOI.

Can we skip to the YMRMFSFPA?
Dhani Jones.*
Even has the funny name.
(*just hoping, not postulating)
