AP All-Time CFB Preaseason Top 25 Poll
Didn't see this posted yet. Thought this was interesting.

Of note:
2. OSU
7. Michigan
8. Nebraska
9. Penn St
18. MSU
22. Wisconsin
25. Iowa
Of note:
4. USC
17. UCLA
It's gonna take some time for it to completely sink in.
USC-OSU -- OSU-Michigan.
I don't know what this means.
Oh, right.
Actually I still don't know what you mean.
42-27. C'mon
Nevermind. I missed the fact that this is all-time.
I missed it for a few seconds...until I saw Nebraska was #8 and had to read the title again.
Okay, so who's done the all-time END-of-season standings?
This would almost certainly factor in last season when Michigan won the BIG East after beating Ohio State 42-27 in November.
WOW!! Must have missed that somehow.
That was my question too, and cbs has! It's linked from the OP's linked page:
It's coaches poll, so a little different, but still answers the obvious question you raised because who cares about preseason polls.
Of note: Top 5
T1 Ohio State 1028
T1 Oklahoma 1028
3 Alabama 1011
4 Michigan 806
5 Notre Dame 743
Cheating not factored in.
Very interesting - thanks for sharing.
I hope there comes a time when we'll look back at preseason polls as an absurdity. There is absolutely no good reason for them. 2017 Florida State is a great example of that failed system. They went from #3 to #10 to #29 by losing their first 2 games. They had no business ever being ranked #3.
Almost as useless as pre-season basketball polls. Nobody knows what will happen in March Madness, which is the only thing that matters.
Tennessee at 13 seems correct for the level of cursed they are
Ole Miss being on there is a surprise to me.
Michigan in 70s, 80s, and 90s. Oof! It fell behind drastically in 2010s. And in 1060s.
Other than that, very consistent. Hope the 2020s are closer to 70s, and 80s than 2010s.
Definitely fell off in the 1060's. 1050's were not great either. 30 BC was stellar though.
Absolutely! Michigan, victors of the second and third millenia.
William the Conqueror started pulling recruits from the midwest in the 1060s.
Wow, OSU buoyed by all those pre-season rankings of John Cooper teams that ended up losing to Michigan.
Winner!
Coop had 10 years of preseason greatness.
Comparing the preseason list to the postseason list shows some interesting results. Of the top 18, Penn State and Georgia are the only teams having a postseason total that exceeds its preseason total. Highest negative delta goes to USC, Notre Dame, Texas and Oklahoma
Michigan appears to jump to #4 in the post season points. Sparty starts low and ends low.
That is pretty interesting, thanks! Be interesting to see the all time, post season rankings averages and compare the delta and performance of each school against the pre season predictions.
(Edit: Thanks MGoGoGO...I see you've done this already!)
