Anzalone not visiting this weekend
PA LB Alex Analone will not visit UM this weekend, was reportedly told by the coaches that they are full at linebacker. Sounds like the Coaches are pretty confident in the guys they are already recruiting.
CRAY'D!!
This fact won't prevent OSU from claiming a head-to-head win.
I had a back and forth with an ohio fan about a week ago about Schutt. I explained how Hoke wanted 1 nose tackle and Pipkins was a far superior talent. He then fired back with he had an offer, that means they were actively recruiting him. After that he claimed Keving Bacon was not in foot loose.. HeeeeHawww!! HeeeHaww!!
Yeah, they were full at the D-tackle spot....that's why they took Willie Henry right?
Psh, yeah, right, and Grizzly Adams had a beard...
...because of all the other badass linebackers they have locked up.
I think Urban is looking for guys with more speed and he could always turn these other guys as back up plans!!!!!!!!!!

I think there was a genuine interest from Anzalone even though he seems pretty open right now. I think we would've had to catch up with Ohio and Penn State though.
That was the first thing that I thought about.
None of the logical OSU fans would claim it as a recruting head-to-head win. Just like most of us only think of Armani as the real head-to-head win for last class. And Alex isn't being biased when he says he doesn't think Michigan had a shot. All signs point to him being PSU or OSU's to lose. Just as a number of UM leans will have cursory interest in OSU, the staff isn't going to really go after a lot of them because they are more than likely a waste of resources. Just as Hoke didn't really waste time on Woodard, Burrows, or Marshall. They had offers, but Hoke wasn't going to waste his time going after a kid that we were going to get.
It's kind of hard to gauge your interest in a school if you haven't visited. He's already been to Penn State and Ohio State, I believe. That's why they lead. I don't know if I'd put Anzalone in the same group of players you said above although I believe Ohio State is the leader at this point. He's not a lock like those guys seemed to be.
the coaches like the guy we got and the guys we probably will get better...
...and so do i!
[edit] also, i think it's great that the coaches did this. they were honest. i bet most schools don't do that at this point in the year regardless of who is committed.
The remaining LB's they are recruiting. It tells them the staff has them as their priority and to take their time. Is this good sign for Levenberry?
Hoke must know something I don't. He must have Mgoblog insider.
He updated it.
Is Levenberry visiting this weekend?
think he's visiting for the spring game.
Well considering that the Spring Game is still over a month away, I can't imagine a scenario where we would actually be full at LB already. I guess they did get Magnuson to basically commit without visiting last year though.
They very well could be full for everyone but one player they think is a seriously special talent, which Levenberry apparently is.
I consulted the I Ching, and my best reading is that the coaches consider "2, plus Levenberry if he commits" to be 'full.' This probably means that one other LB is already pretty much in the fold.
**cough cough BENGEDEON cough**
Ah yes, Beng E. Deon. Should be special.
Did you guys see the video of Beng E. Deon picking off a pass, intended for a young Taco Pants, mid back-flip at that 7-on-7 a few years back? Man, knew since then he'd be special.
Hello: Ben Ge.........
That England fan is good.
Should have committed in February when the rush was on! Judging by his offer list, he will not have trouble finding a good home.
That kid's got one heck of an offer list. Basically the only talent factory that I didn't see on there was Texas.
I don't really follow recruiting, but I usually check out there offer lists. I feel like the coaching staffs are the real talent evaluation experts, so a kid with that many huge offers (assuming they're all real) is probably pretty impressive.
Isn't he supposed to be an OSU lock anyway?
I don't really get the point of this picture. Can someone explain?
I was looking forward to RCMB figuring out that they could transpose the "z" with the "al".
Ah, yes. Home of the Cam Burrows Surprise.
"not visiting this weekend" would be the most common response.
I opened this thread just to make the exact same comment, and just before I got to your post, I was starting to think that I must be a pretty sick fuck since no one else had said it yet.
I'm not crazy about this. I love Anzalone's tape. We'll see. He's headed to Penn State this weekend. I'd rather he go there than Ohio.
I was just going to say that his tape is ridiculous. He's one of the fastest LBs in this class and he plays with great awareness at the same time. His offer sheet speaks for itself.
If he's not a Wolverine I'd rather have him not go to a B1G school.
He plays both ways, he's a good blocker, a good and tough runner, and he's always around the ball defensively. Not enough film of him in coverage, but he seemed decent. He has great instincts for the run though. He sort of reminds me of Joe Bolden with more size. I rated Anzalone pretty highly in comparison to the other LBs. Not Levenberry or Hutchings, but one of my top guys on the board.
you think his tape is better than levenberry's?
I don't know if you were replying to both of us, but no, I do not think his tape is better than Levenberry's.
Better? No. As good? Yes. I'd say Levenberry sheds blocks at a more consistent rate yet doesn't move laterally as well, but at that point you're splitting hairs with a small sample size. They're both going to be successful linebackers.
Overrated? Sorry but sometimes I don't understand the logic behind these votes.
Someone's been negging anyone who says anything positive about Anzalone.
I hate the term "silent commit" but this sounds like the case
