Anyone for trivia?

Considering the sitch thought trivia could be in order.

Here's the thing bout trivia on-line in this format - obviously you can look up the answers.  Not fun or cool.  On your honor.  Research and post your own questions.  Someone answers correctly you can end/answer and award points due complexity and speed?  or not.  just answer.

I can start with what might be easy one:

Of the top ten NFL QB's all time for passing yards - all of them have seen the field in the last ten years but 2 - name them.

Conversely - and shows how much the NFL has changed - Of the top ten RB's all time in rushing yards - only three have seen the field in the last ten years - name them.

A Peterson and Gore are still active ,and LaDaian Tomlinson im guessing is in the top 10.

Elway and Marino are the QBS.  I went to Favre last game and that was 2010

Without looking QB 1 is Marino. 2 is either Warren Moon or Fousts, probably Fousts since he didn’t have to go the CFL route.

RB’s are harder, but I think it’s LT, AP and Frank Gore. Didn’t look, those are my guesses.

The 1968 Detroit Tigers beat the St. Louis Cardinals in 7 games to win the World Series.  Who can name the one player on the Tigers 25 man active WS roster who did not play in the series?

There was a neighbor of mine named Pat Dobson (passed away several years ago).  My dad recognized his name from being on that team but I had never heard of him.  68 was one year before my time.  Middle reliever?  I'm guessing one of those relievers never saw time since Lolich & McClain were probably going the distance.  Was no DH then.

It may have been Jon Warden. Southpaw reliever who got a lot of action at the beginning of the season and then hurt his arm.  Still very active with the Tiger Fantasy Camp.

Dobson went onto have a couple of excellent seasons in Baltimore.  He was part of a killer starting rotation with Jim Palmer, Dave McNally, and Mike Cuellar.

DING DING DING!

We have a winner!  Yes, it was Jon Warden.  And being that he was still on the active roster for the World Series, he was obviously healthy enough to pitch if needed vs The Cards.

Warden went 3-1 out of the bullpen as a middle reliever in the '68 season, during an era of baseball when relief pitching wasn't considered to be nearly as important as it is now. If I remember correctly, during the following off-season, Warden was claimed by the Royals in the expansion draft.  Not sure what happened after that with him, other than that he never again pitched in the majors.

Everyone knows that Ray Chapman was killed by a pitched ball in August of 1920 and is the only person to ever have been killed in a MLB game.  My question is:

Who pinch-ran for him?

I can't tell you what years without research or google, but I remember reading many years ago that Gordie was only captain for a few seasons in the early 60's, followed by Alex Delvecchio for at least 10-12 years.

Two guys were college roommates, both would go on and be named MVP's in different pro sports. The first name of one is the last name of the other.
