Angry Cats Fired Toward Nebraska - TE Commit Matt Snyder to Join DE Reuben Jones on Campus this Weekend

Submitted by alum96 on

A pair of Nebraska commits will be joining the festivities in Ann Arbor this weekend as Harbaugh welcomes Mike Riley to the Big 10.  Just in - Jay H and Drevno convinced 3 star TE Matt Snyder to come visit (this would appear to be be a backup plan if Clark goes Bruins), but he sounded like he was interested anyhow.

"I had pretty much decided that I wanted to take the visit," Snyder said. "It was more about working out the details with the coaches today and getting to meet them. They were friendly and really easy to talk with. We talked a lot about football but other stuff as well."

I believe Snyder had committed to Riley at Oregon State, and then followed him to Nebraska on 12/30.

Reuben Jones, a 3 star out of FL - also a NE commit - was already planning to visit.  Jones from all indications is not in the same warm fuzzy zone with Riley's staff as he was with Petrino's Pelini's.  Jones is Frank Clark type size out of HS, but actually plays the position rather than S.  He also is familiar with Michigan thru the Tigers who camp in his hometown. ;)  Jones sounds like a pretty realistic opportunity.  Jones has offers from MSU and Iowa (among others) - 2 staffs good at finding defensive talent at the 3 star level.  He would be the type of pickup you'd be very happy with in a transition recruiting year.

Jones was offered by the coaching staff two weeks ago and has expressed heavy interest in the Wolverines, who are believed to be a potential leader for his services, depending on the outcome of the official.

Ace discussed both guys on front page today.

You're all prejudice against angry cats. As someone who is best friends with someone who is married to an angry cat, I am offended. On this special day, let's remember what Dr. Meowtin Luther King Jr. said: "I have a dream that asks not what your country can do for you, but that you can 4 score and 7 years ago. Meow."

PETA is currently drafting a cease & decist letter to remove the blatant disregard for the well being of felines, and the labeling of their temperment in a negative manner.

Or do they have other motives? I'm kinda down I'm in then out then maybe in. Doesn't sound like blue blood to me. Just saying.

Dear Mr. Hoke,

Randy Gregory is going to be a top 10 NFL draft pick at 240 lbs.  Calhoun was 240ish in is breakout RS SO year (he is 249 now).   Ojemudia is 249 as well; all these guys are 3 years older.

One redshirt year and S&C, and he will be fine in the 240s.  Both your ends need not be 260+.

You mention Ojemudia while taking a swipe at Hoke, who recruited him. He also recruited and played Beyer, Clark, and Marshall, also slight DE. Pretty much all the DE that Hoke recruited/played were slight. Weird attempted insult. Maybe talk about wanting S and WR over 6' or big RB. But this one was no good.

Confused... Your first sentence really makes it seem like Harbaugh is going to literally welcome Mike Riley to Ann Arbor and the B1G while bringing some recruits with him?!?

I mean, I figured it out but you didn't make it easy. NO MOAR METAPHORS!

Michigan is apparentely in contact with current texas QB commit (4*) named Zach Gentry per the twittersphere. Not sure if there is any mutual interest, but it reinforces that Harbaugh really wants a 2nd QB in the class.

So...  Did the BIG hands off recruiting policy die with Urban dropping the gloves?  I thought there was a gentlemans understanding that you just kinda let the other BIG guys recruits be..  I know Dantonio came out of the weeds and blasted Unlce Urbz about out a few years back.
