Bummer man.

Clickbait title

I agree, but we knew nothing short of a miracle was going to get either one of them back. Ambry's health issue? and Nico draft status were the perfect narrative for Rosenhaus' money grab at the expense of their final collective college seasons.
September 28th, 2020 at 9:53 PM ^
Yeah, how selfish of him to look out for their financial futures at the expense of your entertainment.
September 29th, 2020 at 1:39 AM ^
Yo Bru, I gave you an upvote!
Some were less appreciative of your candor, apparently!
September 29th, 2020 at 8:31 AM ^
Anyone on this board would make the same choice as Nico in the same situation. But the butthurt around here flows.
September 28th, 2020 at 9:47 PM ^
You won’t believe #3 listed in her tweet.
September 28th, 2020 at 11:11 PM ^
Really disappointed this wasn't just a link to her tweeting the eye emoji.
September 29th, 2020 at 10:25 AM ^
or a purple devil
September 28th, 2020 at 7:59 PM ^
Neither is coming back, we have to move on.
We got Mayfield, and hopefully the young WRs and CBs are ready.
September 28th, 2020 at 11:12 PM ^
Far more worried about CB. Definitely a hit for the WRs but they'll be fine. CB potentially could be as big a weakness as DT last year. Watching LSU get torn to shreds by Leach doesn't make me feel good about facing OSU.
September 29th, 2020 at 10:01 AM ^
The nice thing is if our D-line improves the way we hope that can mask poor CB play. Can't get the ball to an open receiver if the QB is on his back all game.
September 28th, 2020 at 8:09 PM ^
Maybe an unpopular opinion: Thomas should not opt in. Health first.
September 29th, 2020 at 10:33 AM ^
On the flip side, Hill was quite a bit better, and he did not get drafted last year right? Compare Hills production at UM to Thomas'.
September 28th, 2020 at 8:22 PM ^
This is true and is per Harbaugh's interview with Jon Jansen.
September 28th, 2020 at 8:27 PM ^
I reallllllllllllly wanted to see Nico this year. Ambry would have been a huge plus on defense.... however..... I’m happy to get the young guys some experience in this whacky weird season. This will help them sooooo much more going forward.
September 28th, 2020 at 8:30 PM ^
Blerg. Both guys hurt but at least we can cheer up about seeing more of the young wideouts do speed in space . CB depth on the other hand is...concerning. Hopefully the changes to the D with the new coaching staff additions will mitigate the holes at corner and DT.
September 29th, 2020 at 4:56 AM ^
We have holes at D tackle?
September 29th, 2020 at 5:44 AM ^
I think the holes at CB are so big it’s starting to spread to other position groups like cancer?
September 28th, 2020 at 8:31 PM ^
Darn.
September 28th, 2020 at 8:36 PM ^
Can’t say I’m surprised, but maybe it’s for the best. We have some good talent ready to play. Best of luck to them! They deserve it!
September 28th, 2020 at 8:41 PM ^
I really don’t understand the nico one. Seems to me he can only improve his draft stock. I understand Thomas with his health
September 28th, 2020 at 8:46 PM ^
I agree that nico has the most to gain, but I understand it to an extent. It’s easy to say “just pay the money back” from the agents advance, but what if he spent a significant portion?
September 29th, 2020 at 5:01 AM ^
I don't think that's it. I believe Nico and his agent feel they probably have built up enough interest and intrigue through all the off season hype about a 4.4 forty and other testing numbers that if he performs well at the combine he will go high. His situation isn't much different than DJ Metcalf's of two years ago who is playing for Seattle.
September 28th, 2020 at 8:45 PM ^
the stupidest thing about all of this is the fact that it makes no sense not to come back :((
September 28th, 2020 at 11:17 PM ^
Easy for you to say. Coming back actually carries risks. Just not for you.
September 29th, 2020 at 10:05 AM ^
That's a fair point, but Nico and Ambry were all in *until* the season got cancelled and they signed with an agent.
So they did the math once of covid season vs. NFL, decided to come back, then the season got cancelled, they signed, now season is back on but they are staying signed.
So the difference as far as I can see is the agent and the paperwork burden of appealing to have eligibility restored.
September 28th, 2020 at 8:55 PM ^
Maybe they don’t know they can. Some one should tell them.
September 28th, 2020 at 9:10 PM ^
Get everyone ready for 2021.
September 28th, 2020 at 9:19 PM ^
Opens up a spot for McDoom in the WR depth chart. Brilliant!
September 28th, 2020 at 9:39 PM ^
Both don’t make sense. Would’ve been nice to see Milton throw bombs to nico but maybe in another world I guess. Life as Michigan fan...
September 29th, 2020 at 1:56 AM ^
Another world as in on the Vikings maybe? Or Bears?
Now that would be "life as a Michigan fan"!
September 28th, 2020 at 10:03 PM ^
I get it with Thomas and his health, Nico is a head scratcher. Though you would think they would look at where Hill and DPJ went in this past draft and see the need to improve their draft stock.
September 28th, 2020 at 10:17 PM ^
Time to move on. Time for slot ninjas and previously unknown defensive backs to step to the forefront.
September 28th, 2020 at 10:27 PM ^
Lost in Space.
September 28th, 2020 at 10:30 PM ^
I didn't expect either to come back and I am bummed about it. I wish them both the best and given the chaos of the pandemic you can't fault anyone's decision one way or the other.
With that being said, I hope they weren't oversold the idea of their draft status and that's their primary reason. We love them both, but the reality is that they have very little film to justify being a high draft pick. Just last year DPJ dropped despite having elite physical traits and Hill went undrafted despite having a lot more success than Thomas.
Hopefully they stay healthy and get drafted high....wish we could have seen them on the field this year kicking ass and raising their stock.
September 28th, 2020 at 10:54 PM ^
Heard the same thing on the radio this evening in a Harbaugh. He made it sound like the door was closed.
September 28th, 2020 at 11:02 PM ^
There’s no way you heard it in a Harbaugh, bc that doesn’t make any sense
September 28th, 2020 at 11:19 PM ^
If the B1G did not cancel their season in August but only announced a delay, I think both would have stayed. But I don't blame them for leaving, since they thought the season.\ was canceled. But I'm glad Mayfield came back.
September 29th, 2020 at 2:27 AM ^
You just know Steinbrenner's behind this shit somehow. Oh...wait. Never mind.
September 29th, 2020 at 8:02 AM ^

Old tweet from Nico - Yung Bulls - Let's ride:
September 29th, 2020 at 8:58 AM ^
Talk about wide ranges of thoughts on their draft stock it had to be a tough decision for both. Knowing someone who was on their damn death bed due to UC I totally see why Ambry is sitting out.
With Nico you can literally find him listed as a 1st round to 5th round pick (this is precisely why he likely came back) so it made sense pre covid to come back and kick ass.
I wish them the best but I do imagine this is a really tough decision for both these young men.
September 29th, 2020 at 9:12 AM ^
Those who stay will be 2nd place in the B1G East.
Best of luck to them on draft day and beyond.
September 29th, 2020 at 11:40 AM ^
Each passing day looks bleak for Nico's return.
