Angelique just tweeted that Mayfield is the only one to have submitted  the waiver to opt back in when asked about Thomas and Collins.

I reallllllllllllly wanted to see Nico this year.  Ambry would have been a huge plus on defense.... however..... I’m happy to get the young guys some experience in this whacky weird season.  This will help them sooooo much more going forward.

Blerg. Both guys hurt but at least we can cheer up about seeing more of the young wideouts do speed in space . CB depth on the other hand is...concerning. Hopefully the changes to the D with the new coaching staff additions will mitigate the holes at corner and DT.

I don't think that's it. I believe Nico and his agent feel they probably have built up enough interest and intrigue through all the off season hype about a 4.4 forty and other testing numbers that if he performs well at the combine he will go high. His situation isn't much different than DJ Metcalf's of two years ago who is playing for Seattle.

That's a fair point, but Nico and Ambry were all in *until* the season got cancelled and they signed with an agent.

So they did the math once of covid season vs. NFL, decided to come back, then the season got cancelled, they signed, now season is back on but they are staying signed.

So the difference as far as I can see is the agent and the paperwork burden of appealing to have eligibility restored.

Both don’t make sense. Would’ve been nice to see Milton throw bombs to nico but maybe in another world I guess. Life as Michigan fan...

I get it with Thomas and his health, Nico is a head scratcher.  Though you would think they would look at where Hill and DPJ went in this past draft and see the need to improve their draft stock.

I didn't expect either to come back and I am bummed about it.  I wish them both the best and given the chaos of the pandemic you can't fault anyone's decision one way or the other.

With that being said, I hope they weren't oversold the idea of their draft status and that's their primary reason.  We love them both, but the reality is that they have very little film to justify being a high draft pick.  Just last year DPJ dropped despite having elite physical traits and Hill went undrafted despite having a lot more success than Thomas.

Hopefully they stay healthy and get drafted high....wish we could have seen them on the field this year kicking ass and raising their stock.

If the B1G did not cancel their season in August but only announced a delay, I think both would have stayed. But I don't blame them for leaving, since they thought the season.\ was canceled. But I'm glad Mayfield came back.

Talk about wide ranges of thoughts on their draft stock it had to be a tough decision for both. Knowing someone who was on their damn death bed due to UC I totally see why Ambry is sitting out.

With Nico you can literally find him listed as a 1st round to 5th round pick (this is precisely why he likely came back) so it made sense pre covid to come back and kick ass.

I wish them the best but I do imagine this is a really tough decision for both these young men.
