I'll applaud you too my friend. Watching on TV you can never really tell how loud it is, and with all the red I saw, I didn't think it would be much of a home field advantage, but I was wrong.

I felt the same way seeing all the red in the stands but the crowd was huge that day. Brought a ton of energy and a ton of noise. Hugely responsible five (?) false starts.

Red stands out visually. People tend to overestimate how much there is in the stadium. There were a fair number of OSU fans, to be sure, but not as many as in some previous years.

That's what I thought when watching on TV as well. It was vastly different than the RichRod/Hoke years where the stadium was majority red.

Giving out all those yellow pom-pons definitely helped dampen the red in the stands. They should do that for all big games.

I went to those games. The stadium was never majority red, but it got up to probably 35-40% in 2009 (the worst year).

My wife just finally got her voice back yesterday and with the help of some antibiotics I kicked the cold that turned into a sinus infection this week. I’d do it again in a second. I got tix last second, hit my parking spot at 10:30 and still got 8 beers down my gullet, finishing the last one waiting in line. Best of all my 15 yr old son actually believes now that Michigan has beaten the Buckeyes before.

I'm just glad all they're back to practice. They need to get to Florida as its been hot down here and they need time to adjust to the humidity. UGA will not.

Athens, GA is 600+ miles north of Miami. I think some adjustment will be required for the Bulldogs, too, though not as much as for the Wolverines.

Hutchinson would not have been as productive this year if Don Brown was the DC. His comments about seeing the field better standing up was quite illuminating.

It's become very apparent this year that Dr. Blitz may work well for teams with less talent but it's a liability against teams with more.

I remember in the preview podcast when Seth was telling Brian about the new defense, and Brian laughed at Seth after saying Hutch would be standing up. The negativity around here before the season was so grating.

I played DE in high school. I was not very good, but I played standing up. I was tall and thin and could not physically dominate like many, but I could use my speed to get around people.
I agree with Hutchinson it's just easier standing up. I could see "over" a tackle or TE in their stance and be around them before they got up. Frankly, I'm suprised more "faster" EDGE players don't stand up.

Chris Long basically came out and said it when he said that he was watching his film and asked who is coach was. He then goes on to say that nobody will put him in a 3 tech in the NFL so yeah, it seemed pretty obvious to a guy who was pretty successful at the position that Aiden would be better as a standup based on his own experience.

I always assume they had Hutchinson inside from time to time because the stable of viable inside guys was so thin. More out of necessity, plug a gap, than thinking it was the best spot for him. Maybe I'm giving Brown too much benefit of the doubt, though.

My favorite part of this has to be him stating what his role in the play was: run straight at him or get inside since there was already gonna be a player coming from the outside. Not only did he run straight through the OSU player, but after he knocked him on his ass, you could see that he was also already on the inside. Smart/disciplined player on top of a physical beast!
