Ace Williams No Longer Covering Michigan Football
Apparently, he's getting a job in London. His farewell post is hilariously self-aggrandizing and blissfully short. The link is removed by request and his post and comments are below:
Go blue and farewell!

Fans and critics -
As of this morning, I have accepted a job in London, starting October 1. I will no longer be writing about Michigan football. It has been a hell of a year breaking the most interesting stories on Michigan football. I was featured on SI.com, Yahoo Sports, AOL, Chicago Tribune, Dan Patrick show, Deadspin, Fox Sports, Fox News and many other publications.
One radio host even dubbed me the King of Michigan Football Media, a homage to my controversial style similar to Howard Stern.
I set out to give the average fan a glimpse inside Michigan football and break some stories that the traditional media and blogs were too scared to write. I am very certain I have accomplished that. Chat Sports has found a replacement to write an insider column, someone who I interviewed for the role recently and will do a helluva job. Stay tuned for that announcement.

dude, you were more like the Lance Armstrong of Michigan Football. A guy who was dishonest and who stole from others.September 6 02:43 AM UTCBrian Collins
I know this isn't the point, but Lance Armstrong has donated more money to charities across America, particularly cancer research, than any other athlete alive. Anyway, I really enjoyed reading your articles Ace. You will be missed dearly but I know you have bigger and better things in your future. Good luck and Go Blue!September 6 07:44 AM UTCAceIsAHack
I guess this means you won't reveal your 'source' for half the team being stoned for the AppState game? You represent the very worst in journalism. British tabloids are a great fit.September 8 07:00 PM UTCacesucksass

Who wants to bet it's going to be the exact same person with a different pen name? Beta Williams, perhaps?

He will be missed. I don't know what I will do without his reliable and insightful commentary.

Remember the old Aesop's Fable? The bull finally says to the fly:
"Little fly, I don't care if you stay or leave, you are so tiny that your weight does not make any difference to me. So please be quiet while I am eating and leave me alone."

I had no idea the Detroit Free Press had a London bureau. You learn something new every day, I guess.
