A kid's sophomore year stats usually are not that good compared to what they will do later on in their HS career.  It is also of note that Fred Jackson is not only a good recruiter, but an OUTSTANDING RB coach, one of the best in the country.  He has turned out an outlandish number of NFL backs, and he is an excellent teacher.  This theory is a little weak, and look at he combines.  Jackson tore up the combines and that is why he is considered a great prospect.  Leave the rankings up to the gurus who have see him play, not the numbers form his SOPHOMORE year.

i love michigan just as much as the next super fan. but this is just typical cynical michigan fan right here, always finding reasons to question everything within our program.

Just to set the record straight for DStamper, Tennessee was not "after" Mike friggin' Debord. He had ONE interview with them in regards to a possible position on their coaching staff. Obviously, he didn't get the job and now holds the highly esteemed position as the Seattle Seahawks assistant offensive line coach. Fred Jackson also said that he would've retired if he wasn't retained by RR rather than go to another school to be a position coach.

Yeah that post was straight retarded.  535 receiving yards and three touchdowns as a sophomore in high school is not bad, considering he was 15 years old when he did that, playing the biggest division in Michigan.  Receiving stats of prospects aren't always telling either since a lot of that depends on their QB and other offensive players.  See cbuswolverine's comment.

I saw him play Friday night, as my son plays safety for Pinckney.  He seemed to play with a slight limp throughout the game, but he runs good routes, and has some quickness.  His problem is his quarterback, unless he has plenty of time to throw, can't do anything under duress.  Overall, he seems to be a project more than anything, though I saw some promise.  By the way, Huron won 30-0, if anyone cares.

Guys, Bryce McNeal only had 410 yards as a sophomore. I'm afraid he sucks.

Mario Manningham only had 550 as a senior. I know he's gone, but in retrospect, I'm pretty sure he sucked.

Not to pile on, but his soph stats are absolutely sick.  Um, yes, they're 4/5 star worthy, and you'd be hard-pressed to find many current 4/5 star seniors with better soph stats.

Specifics were something to the effect of "Why are we recruiting this kid? He has no stars on Rivals, one star on Scout, and his stats are pretty lackluster. He only had three touchdowns as a sophomore and 535 receiving yards. And he is slow."

post he deleted it and replaced it with something more intellectual. This may be something for Brian to consider. After a certain time frame, a diary or post cannot be deleted, only added to. That way, people would understand the context of the original comments.

IIRC, he basically said that every team that made an offer to Jackson was attempting to lure away Fred Jackson and that Rodriguez only offered Jeremy to keep Fred here.

The best part of Jeremy's rivals page? That Erick Campbell and Ron English recruited him for Iowa and Louisville... talk about transparency.
