Yes. You can go for two in HS.
My guess would have been either 10 or 12 guys on the field.

and tonight, was it 2 of 6?
Brilliant call. If it was a free throw shooter, would you do it?
Of course. Why not the kicking team?

Cass Tech needs to just run the ball now with under 3 minutes left in the game.

TOUCHDOWN CASS TECH! That seals the deal! Gary Hosey on a huge 72yd run.
August 25th, 2012 at 11:06 PM ^
Unless they get the 2 point conversion, that doesn't seal anything quite yet. 2 would push it to 27-18. That would seal it.

Illinois scores a late TD to go up 8. One TV announcer realized the Illini RB could have ended the game by taking a knee past the sticks, the other TV announcer just couldn't wrap his head around it. (Not saying this is the same situation. It depends on timeouts, etc.) Even after a would-be TD pass from Brady to Terrell grazed off of Terrell's outstretched hands/fingers.

Cass Tech misses the XP, and suddenly this game is not over. Cass Tech leads 25-18.

2 minutes left. Cass Tech needs a turnover or a stop here to win it.

PICKED OFF BY DAMON WEBB! A career night for Webb!

Wouldn't be a terrible strategy. Otherwise, Tech could have run out the clock.

Under 2 minutes left. Cass just running the ball. BR still has their timeouts and has just used one.

First down Cass Tech, and that will do it here at Adams Field at Wayne State in the Prep Kickoff Classic. Cass Tech will just take a knee the next play and they will beat their 3rd catholic league team in the past 4 games they have played dating back to last season.

Mattison needs to start camping out at Cass Tech for Damon Webb....
My God, what a stat line against a perennial powerhouse. Good to see a DPL school having success against Rice.

Honestly it is not an ideal place to go during the night.

That's nothing. WSU is in Midtown. I've been to King and Denby for Cass Tech games and those schools are in East Side.

Just curious, but do you have any special connection to Cass Tech? I'm from the Catholic League so I was pulling for Rice a bit.

Good stuff WD. I was thoroughly entertained by that. I don't know if this was asked before or not, but do you cover HS football, or did you attend the game for personal reasons (ex. friend or family member playing, following current/potential UM recruits, or just knew that this was going to be a barn burner?)

I'm a Renaissance alum. I'm expecting for the Cass game to be a blowout.

I've been in that corner before. Not a fun place.
Luckily I know enough people and have a lot of friends in the CT community that "have my back".
