But I'm okay if this is the last horrah for some of the older guys. Still have 3 years.
Let the older guys win this and then start bringing in the young guns.

...Brad Evans as well.
Still think Beckerman is going to make the final 23.
or did i miss something?
Win the game!
His speed is something that always needs to be on the field, IMO.
I hope this is the last time I ever have to see Timmy Chandler play for the USMNT, he's awful.

Zusi is old and shouldn't play after this tournament...but he's smart and actually good on set pieces. Probably the best we have taking corners.
Chandler gives you nothing but heartburn and plays a position where no one should say that about you.
Nope. Not at all. But you are a troll...so I guess we both are scary to young children.
One phenomenal goal does not a great player make.
Also, it's his very first USMNT goal.
So why would you start your argument with that? As if you're putting me down for being on a blog...when you're literally doing the same thing. Think before you type.
And yes, he's struggled throughout his entire career as a defender, he's not good as a defender IMO.
That has nothing to do with an awesome goal that he scored. Your logic is awful. It's like saying just because someone is a great dunker that they're the best player on the team.
If Brad Guzan scored that goal, does that make him a great goalie?
It's just awful logic on your behalf...for someone on a blog, you should step your game up.

He's going to go too fast sometimes, but eventually he's going to force some action because he just puts so much pressure on the other team.

I'd like to see 3 subs right off the start...
Anyone for Chandler, Bedoya for Zusi, Zardes for Altidore.
Then in the 65th/70th minute Ice Man for Dempsey, Morales for Mix, either goalie for Guzan.
Alvarado for Gonzalez
Garza for Johnson
Zardes for Zusi
#LOGIC
I didn't make a personal attack...a personal attack would be about his personality or his character or something personal, like his family.
Go back to the drinking thread and give an update...you're drunk and spewing nonsense.
If you're not, you're just an idiot. See, that was a personal attack. But it was also the truth, so I'll live with it.
WOW FUCK SHIT BALLS! What a goal.
I take it all back (I don't, still think he's a terrible defender, always thought he was a slow midfielder than a fast defender, but whatever)
Ugly design..must be Adidas (joking)

Just didn't know when he was planning to come back and if he was still planning to come back...glad to hear it's late this summer.
Wondo, couldn't do that vs. Belgium?
GOOOOOOOOOOL
Plenty to build from, but great to get in and get some goals...build some chemistry for this particular group.
Everyone get naked!!!
I love smashing Guatemala - they are the biggest pain in the ass when we play them in their "stadium" in GC. GO USA!!!!!!
Honduras is bigger.
True - I was at the Honduras-USA WC qualifier in September, 2001, and we lost to them 3-2, outnumbered at friggin' RFK easily 2-1 by Honduran fans.
Dwyer gets to go home to Sydney Leroux every night.... lucky bastard....
is succeeding. I believe we are a more technically proficient side now than when he took over. And he is identifying talent. Big tests ahead over the next three years, but in my opinion a lot of the doubts that surfaced just before the WC last year--where we definitely saw only mised success--are starting to be allayed.
I agree. However, we still have some massive problems in the back four that right now would kill us against the elite teams. Other than that, I like the technical development and now, recently, the killer instinct scoring.
we won fairly handily, but a 4-2 score (for ex.), would have been quite possible, too. Several point blank misses for the Chapines.
