4-Star DE Ray Drew likes Michigan's academics
“I like Michigan in the Big Ten,” Drew said. “I'm mostly looking at Michigan; they have a great football program but mainly looking at them for the educational standpoint,” Drew said.
“When I talk to the Michigan coaches they need me for the program and they want to turn the program around. I’m not sure If I will visit them it’s a possibility,” Drew said.

Its unfortunate he likes us that much but can't make the time to get on campus. Hard to seal with the deal without a visit.

Come and visit - you'll like what you see!
Go Blue, Drew, Go Blue!

I would love to see Ray as a wolverine. Being good friends with Avery Walls definetly does help us, probably in RVB's spot or Roh's spot in a couple years. Seems like a real good d-end that could make an instant impact next year. Go Blue Ray!

Well, I think Avery Walls might have a lot to do with Ray's decision since they are pretty good friends and Avery has been telling Ray all about our program, but I don't think Ray's mom wants him that far from home. In the end, he still may visit and come here because of the academics and history of the program. It would be nice to get either one of them, but getting both would be even better.

Good for Ray Drew that he is taking academics seriously. How long is the average Pro career anyway? 3 years assuming you make it there in the first place. Too many athletes go into this process thinking they are a lock for the pros. As for ACT scores and grades, the reality is as a boss, I would rather have a hard working B student than a lazy "genius" who gets easy A's and tests well every day of the week.

I too like Michigan's academics.

change that to 5-star. espn has him as the number three! overall prospect in the country. Would love to get this kid. Def. passes the eyeball test and if he's more interested in our academics I'm pretty sure he's a qualifier. Go BLUE Mr. Drew!

If ESPN has him that high, it must mean he is playing in the Under Armor All American game. Usually, this helps kids on their site.

Come to Ann Arbor Ray! Because it's so much nicer to drive a Lexus after you graduate than a Honda.

Juicy.

Does that mean we're his #1 school? That's what the quote was implying unless I missed something else he said.

Here is part of the quote :
“I like Michigan in the Big Ten,” Drew said. “I'm mostly looking at Michigan; they have a great football program but mainly looking at them for the educational standpoint,” Drew said.
My intrepretation is that he is only looking at Michigan in the the Big Ten, not the other conferences.
