24 hours later
24 hours later and I just want to express a few things... Mostly football.
- I’m very excited for Coach B and the B-Ball team to make a run.
- Proud of “The Team” and what they accomplished this year.
- Seniors did well. (Thanks Wino & Karan)
- Proud of Harbaugh for beating some bigger name programs.
- Wish habaugh could get over the OSU bump.
- Wish we didn’t always feel sorry for the team.
- Ohio State fans are awful & one day Umich will get revenge and it will be sooo sweet.
In in the future/ off season
• I Hope the DB’s and Patterson decide to comeback.
• I Hope UMich will reach out to Jedd Fisch.

Snow storm coming tonight. Won't the Boren's be pissed if you aren't on plow duty tomorrow morning?

Are you sure your apostrophe use is correct?

short for Boren's lawn service. But I was doing my best to help our trolling friend with the phonics. . .

My father always taught me that the real winners in life are the ones who take time out of their day to make a fake account on a rival blog and troll them after a win. That's how you identify someone who's going far in life.

Patterson has no choice but to come back if he left now he’s probably not gonna get drafted ... I wish he would leave because McCaf seems to be the best suited QB for what we run
November 25th, 2018 at 4:51 PM ^
Our O-line pass protection isn't very good. Patterson is the IDEAL qb for us at this time.
November 26th, 2018 at 11:30 AM ^
I love Patterson, but he has to stop underthrowing the deep balls.
November 25th, 2018 at 4:56 PM ^
Patterson would probably be round 3/4 this year. He fits the modern nfl and has extremely high upside - which nfl GMs value in the qb position. I hope he returns and would expect a substantial increase in his draft position if he does.
November 25th, 2018 at 5:04 PM ^
If he left I guarantee he wouldn’t be a 3/4 round pick .. I’ll wait till next year to say I told ya so
November 25th, 2018 at 8:13 PM ^
Marcus, stop being so salty and (1) lose some weight and (2) go find another job.
Patterson would be crazy to go this year. He has had a worse season than Rudddddock and look where he got drafted.
November 26th, 2018 at 7:51 AM ^
I have been strongly against Marcus Ray's commentary but everything he said about Don Brown came true on Saturday. It's amazing how bad things get if they have no pass rush.
On the bright side, Sam Webb says fans can't feel bad because the team feels worse.
November 25th, 2018 at 5:06 PM ^
Throwing the ball 20 times a games isn't very likely to increase his stock much.
November 25th, 2018 at 5:22 PM ^
This is dumb. This year put him in much better position to manage games in the NFL than slinging the ball hither and yon last year. I expect he gets to throw more if he comes back next year.
November 25th, 2018 at 6:16 PM ^
Manage games? I don't know how you're going to call this dumb when you then go on to prove my point. No one is spending a good draft pick on a QB because he can manage games. Manage games?
November 26th, 2018 at 1:04 PM ^
I hope you're kidding, because showing you can handle several types of offense and run a team is absolutely what it's all about. I agree that he has yet to set the world on fire, but that's why he comes back.
November 25th, 2018 at 4:50 PM ^
Yesterday's game made one thing painfully clear - the disparity in overall talent.
The problem wasn't scheme. We don't have the talent to match OSU. It's not Don Brown's fault that Watson doesn't have the speed to defend downfield. Same the Devin Gil. The problem isn't with crossing routes. They have far more speed to spread around the field than we can hope to handle. Period.
November 25th, 2018 at 4:52 PM ^
I know, those Purdue and Maryland teams sure loaded up with talent the last three years so they could beat and almost beat the Buckeyes this year.
It's the carpenter, not the tools.
November 25th, 2018 at 6:12 PM ^
The evidence suggests that either before or after the OSU-Minnesota game Meyer stopped scheming to beat whomever the were playing and started to practice for Michigan, knowing he could beat Purdue, Nebraska, MSU and Maryland on talent alone. And he was right.
November 25th, 2018 at 6:18 PM ^
Watch the Maryland O$U game, if you believe his desperate look at the end of that game when Maryland was going for the win was because he "stopped scheming" I have some wonderful oceanfront property for you in Arizona.
November 25th, 2018 at 5:05 PM ^
The problem wasn't scheme. We don't have the talent to match OSU.
According to 247 OSU has the most talented roster in the nation. However, USC has the #4 ranked team talent, Clemson is #6, and UM has #8. USC can't play with OSU, but Clemson ranked behind them can from what I've seen. The point is we have enough talent IMO, we just have some glaring holes at OT right now and personal matchups favored OSU. If Barrett was playing this year I bet we would have beaten him. And, if Uche, Ross, and Thomas with far more speed repped all year for this they would have fared better than Gill and Watson. The only acceptable reason to believe that Gary & Winovich can't get a pass rush was questionable health. One can get doubled, but not both. Moving forward, our recruiting class is doing well and the holes will eventually get filled in if they continue to recruit at this level.
November 25th, 2018 at 5:10 PM ^
It will be interesting to see if UM can close on this class. Harrison in particular.
November 25th, 2018 at 6:06 PM ^
Roster has the talent now to beat OSU. Really until JH gets over the hump and shows that he can beat OSU and make it into the playoff, rising above the no.8 overall roster won't happen anyway.
Why the blowout? Much more a failure to use the roster talent in the right way than a lack of roster talent.

I disagree. The 2018 class (#20) is the outlier amongst the others (#6 in '16, #6 in '17, #3 in '18 on ESPN). Assuming his classes are more like the others as time goes on it will improve.
November 25th, 2018 at 7:26 PM ^
Ran a lot of 3 man lines yesterday because the DTs were so bad. So you can double both. Would have rather seen them go with Paye and Gary at DT with Chase at one end and rotate Hutch and Uche at the other end.
November 25th, 2018 at 6:49 PM ^
2015:
MSU 17 OSU 14
2017:
Iowa 55 OSU 24
2018:
Purdue 49 OSU 20
Gosh, the rationale this board makes for losing to OSU 16 out of the last 18 is insufferable. Get the fucking job done. The staff and players don't like the pressure to beat your arch rival more than once a presidential term? Go to NC State or Colorado.
November 25th, 2018 at 9:49 PM ^
They’re grasping at anything they can in order to avoid admitting that Harbaugh & Co. failed miserably.
November 25th, 2018 at 8:18 PM ^
You’re very wrong.
Brown's scheme got raped, and better recruits wouldn’t have helped that in any meaningful way. You can’t run a scheme that require a lock down third DB who would be #1 most teams and then cry when it doesn’t work. OSU created mismatches and brown fucked up his counter.
Both him and Harbaugh did awful jobs and let their players down.
November 25th, 2018 at 4:50 PM ^
Yeah, I woke up and was still pretty bummed.
But honestly, I thought we would have no chance against Alabama. Sure I would have wanted to see it, but we are not at that level. I also don't think we would beat Georgia or Clemson. I think we could hang with ND and OSU (with some scheme changes), but they beat us.
So that puts us around No. 6 in the country, or somewhere in the 6-10. A top-10 team that goes 11-2 with a victory in a New Year's Six bowl game.
I didn't like the play calling, and we simply got outschemed by one of the best coaches in college football history against a team with some better talent.
But shit, this was a good, not great season. People calling this the end of UM football, or how this whole season is a failure, is a complete joke.
November 25th, 2018 at 4:50 PM ^
No change in input, and there will be no change in output.
November 25th, 2018 at 5:07 PM ^
The inputs are the recruiting classes. We will be fine next year and the year after. Stop firing every god damn coach after fucking 4 years. Jesus Christ.
November 25th, 2018 at 4:53 PM ^
Uh, what bigger name programs did we beat? Oh you mean, big name programs (PSU, Wisconsin, MSU (?)). There's only one program in the conference that's a bigger name program than UM and that's OSU.
Also, Brian (maybe with the help of the Board if he so chooses) needs to figure out a way to get the short and stupid responses off the board. Some decent OPs are getting one word answers just trying to be first. Maybe voting or something. I probably shouldn't be posting anyway.
Also, I'm still very sad.
November 25th, 2018 at 4:55 PM ^
Feeling good is all about being on the positive side of expectations. Going into the season if you told me we'd beat Wiscy, MSU, and PSU but lose to ND and OSU and go 10-2 I'd happily take that. However, after going into the game with only a narrow lose to an undefeated team the first game of the year I had hopes of an OSU victory, a conference championship, and playoff berth. After the dismantling OSU gave us that left me feeling disappointed. However, after some time to reflect I come back to the idea that we had a pretty good season that exceeded expectations and while it's frustrating to have lost so bad to our bitter rival and how we feel so far away from ever beating them, it is only one game. Next year will be a new year with a new opportunity to beat our rival again.
I'm guessing we'll drop back in the polls to the back half of the top 10. I'm assuming OSU, Okla, UW, Clemson, and Bama win their conference championships making it Bama, Clemson, ND, and Okla in the playoffs. That puts OSU in the Rose against UW. We're probably getting into the Fiesta or Citrus vs Washing St, LSU, or UCF. I think those are win-able matchups. So, my hope is we can end the year with a bowl victory, finish with a strong recruiting class, get Patterson and at least one of the CBs to come back next year and have a bright outlook for '19.
November 25th, 2018 at 9:09 PM ^
After yesterday, i sure as fuck don't want ucf. Even without milton, they have a roster chock full of speedy dudes. Im really hoping we get lsu and not ucf.
November 26th, 2018 at 7:02 AM ^
There aren't many Haskins out there and they don't have OSU's d-line. I haven't seen them play much this season but I'd guess they are a notch above Maryland, Indiana, & Purdue, but a few notches below OSU.
November 25th, 2018 at 4:59 PM ^
24 hours later I’m still bummed. I think the game plan and execution of disappointing game plan was still poor.
That being said, 10-2 is still very good. If you had asked me before the season I would have said I’d take it. It’s only how yesterday went that crushes our souls. Harbaugh is better than anyone else we can get. I’m ok with one more year to best Urbz and his headaches.
November 25th, 2018 at 5:01 PM ^
Agreed. I’m very excited for the Basketball Season and I appreciate everything Winovich and Higdon has done for the program. Like most everyone on here I remember Higdon’s high school coach posting his interest in the program in a thread and watching it snowball to a commitment. I think it cost us Mike Weber, but I would absolutely take that trade again.
I wonder if the team just had a bad day, like OSU had versus Purdue or if they are just the better team? I live in Columbus and I talked a lot of trash last week, so tomorrow at work won’t be a lot of fun. I know I’m not alone in the overconfidence because it seemed like everyone on here knew we were going to win and it was just a matter of how much we would win by. A lot of people thought it would be over by the start of the fourth quarter and I was guilty in that assessment as well.
I’m hoping my co-workers will cut me some slack since they were agreeing that it would be a blowout, but they will probably be as insufferable as ever.
November 25th, 2018 at 8:51 PM ^
Just agree with them and laugh it off. Deny them what they - you being pissed, and they'll generally leave you alone after the initial onslaught. But you have to take it well and not get mad about it, or it'll never stop...
November 25th, 2018 at 5:03 PM ^
24 hours later, I'm pretty sure I'm emotionally dead inside.
November 25th, 2018 at 5:04 PM ^
The Jedd Fisch obsession is bewildering. The offense with Fisch was equivalent to what it is now.
November 25th, 2018 at 5:16 PM ^
Agree. Some of the dumbest takes on here.
November 25th, 2018 at 5:04 PM ^
Still frustrated, but not as angry as I was yesterday. It sucks losing to these guys, they relish the opportunity to rub our face in it, and it sucks. Have to acknowledge - they played their best ball yesterday, and we simply did not.
Proud of the team for winning some big games and getting the program back on track. We're building, and think Harbaugh can get us to the summit of beating OSU.
Some changes need to be made, but we're getting there. This does not look like the same program under Hoke and Rich Rod.The tide is going to turn soon, and we'll get back to this being an actual rivalry. I believe these guys can do it.
