I hope that Mr. Prieskorn takes a look at my recent diary post (shameless plug) and realizes that there is plenty of room for 2+ star tight ends on our roster.

Here's a fun fact: every SINGLE tight end who could have been considered "TE1" during the Harbaugh era...has gone to the NFL. And a fair number of TE2 as well.

So we’re OL U, EDGE U, and TE U? Give us all the Us

6’ 6”?? Let’s fucking go. And his scouting report from 247 is perfect for Michigan. Sounds like he can play EDGE too

Hansen does what you want a tight end in a run-heavy offense- he opens holes, he seals off the edge when necessary and helps his back get yards when they need his block. But since it is a heavy ground game, he won't ever get the targets or touches other tight ends in the region will get. But Hansen makes such a big impact defensively too, drawing double and even some triple teams to allow other players in the front seven to end plays. Hansen also looks like he's gotten bigger and stronger from the spring 7v7 circuit. With all of his offers to play tight end, Hansen's future is clearly on offense, but he makes a big impression from his edge spot.

I think it is fair for us all to assume he will turn out exactly like the last 4 star TE we brought in and have exactly the same timeframe. Welcome Colston Loveland - but taller!

I think we will need to graft transfers to make the 23 class better, but then we should ok with recruiting again.

Autocorrect changed my grab to graft, I think I will keep it.

He can set up a NIL-funded charity called Hogan’s Heroes when he gets to campus.….As soon as someone explains to the kid what Hogan’s Heroes is.

It seems to be accepted wisdom that we're "bad at NIL," with the 2023 recruiting class cited as evidence.  But our 2024 class is off to a strong start.

How do we reconcile this?

1 - We remain "bad at NIL" but have found enough good 2024 kids for whom it's not a deciding factor?

2 - We figured out how to be "good at NIL" too late for the 2023 class, but in time for the '24 class?

3 - NIL was never really the issue, and that other factors (Harbaugh's NFL flirtation, the loss of Courtney Morgan, etc.) affected the '23 class more?

NIL isn't a major factor for 24 kids. Traditional recruiting factors dominate. As the 23 class wraps up, and teams solidify their scouting of the 24 kids, you'll see NIL become a bigger factor. Basically, the 24 class is too young for significant NIL to be offered.

TAM is a good NIL team but kids don't like losing and having bad coaches to develop them. I think the most NIL should go to those student athletes who excel on the filed and in the classroom not to new recruits. But new recruits need to be told that a lot of NIL is there for the taking if they work hard and develop.
