2023 MGoStaff Appreciation Thread

Submitted by Steve-a-wolverine-o on September 1st, 2023 at 12:36 PM

After reading a very cheerful The Story this year, I was interested in taking a look back to reread The Story from 2021.  That Story was written during the beforetimes. Before BPONE was banished from the UFRs with one mighty Haskins TD after another in the second half of the first of two OSU curbstompings. It also spoke of how Brian needs to shed some of the MGoLoad.
This week, after 8 hours of Podcast (funny and interesting) and a huge word count in the preview articles, it’s amazing just how great the MGoStaff are around here. Thanks Brian, Seth, Dave, and Alex. (And the others like Craig and other Brian and Jamie Mac and whoever I’m forgetting, the sponsors...) And to the community that circles around a the MGoBlogisphere (as Sam calls it).

Thanks so much for keeping this blog up!  We appreciate your hard work.

RE: The Mods -

We're just unpaid volunteers who happen to enjoy the place, that's all. It has its moments, to be sure, but I don't know that any of us would do it if we didn't love Michigan athletics to unhealthy levels like everyone else here. I don't want to necessarily speak for everyone, so hopefully I captured the sentiment accurately.

The sheer amount (and quality!!) of content this week has been incredible. I’m ready and pumped for Michigan football!

That being said, BPONE is not easily banished, and this insidious belief that we can’t have nice things is something that I’m still trying to shake.

It's unreal the content they put out. Imagine being a fan of any other team and looking at MGoBlog and their content level. The content-envy must be maddening.

For real.  Has anyone wandered over to some of these SBNation sites for their previews of their respective teams? It's like "here are the dudes on the roster, what will they do? Shrug, we'll have to watch and find out! What do you think they'll do? Let us know in the comments."  That's literally it.

I have a buddy who's a big Canes fans and he asked me how I know so much about the M roster and who's doing what. I sent him a link to MgoBlog and his mind was blown by UFR. He thinks the people who run this site have a problem and he wishes someone in the Miami fanbase had the same problem.

a particular shout-out to seth's family and son-of-seth.  though the prognosis is good, the times are undoubtedly still so frightening until you get back to normal.

The preview week and the UFRs make this site what it is - no other site comes close.  They've figured out their core.  Everything else is take or leave it - but those 2 things must stay or this blog doesn't exist.

This place is amazing and THE place to be for Michigan fans!! Not much more to add to what the OP and other commenters have typed, but if you're feeling generous, hit that little 'Donate' button (right side of the page under the site banner) and send the gang some cold hard credit.

Yes! Much appreciation.

Also, I've now sacrificed for the MGoStaff: even though I know that reading HTTV will take me away from work, I'm willing to make that sacrifice for their sake and finally buy my copy.

Let me once again shout my appreciation for the MGoStaff from the rooftops. So much has happened personally with you folks, and yet this blog never wavers. It's been my favorite site for years and years, and I visit pretty much every day -- even in the offseason. Thank you, thank you, thank you, to all, for keeping this the best sports site on the interwebs.

Great content and creative in so many ways. Really appreciate all the contributors, the mods (sometimes) and the escape this blog provides.

Thank you!!  Go Blue!
