Other than playing An Ohio State, the home schedule is pretty bad.
October 26th, 2022 at 12:19 PM ^
The entire schedule is pretty bad. Ohio State and Penn State will be difficult and then your third hardest game is either Minnesota or MSU?
October 26th, 2022 at 1:24 PM ^
At Maryland as a sandwich game between @psu and osu may be tricky if they keep improving
October 26th, 2022 at 2:26 PM ^
Honestly, that whole run from @Nebraska to @Maryland is going to be rough. That's 5 of 7 games on the road and then capping if off with the Ohio State game.
October 26th, 2022 at 3:51 PM ^
Say what you will about Michigan's schedule, but they're the only B1G East team without an FCS opponent on the docket.
October 26th, 2022 at 12:19 PM ^
On the other hand, ECU does not look totally horrible based on this season's results. It's not a marquee nonconference game, but it's better than having three total doormats like this season. (This may be Stockholm Syndrome expressing itself based on the absolute drudgery of this season's start.)
October 26th, 2022 at 2:32 PM ^

It is.
All we're missing is either New Mexico or New Mexico State to round out an absolute craptastic of OOC for recent history.
^ Fuck it. Do a double header.
October 26th, 2022 at 2:52 PM ^
The power ratings I use have East Carolina ranked 54th in the country so far this year, right behind BYU and ahead of Houston and Nebraska
October 26th, 2022 at 1:48 PM ^
November should be fun! The home games are less than to be desired, but we go!
October 26th, 2022 at 12:12 PM ^
12-0 it's a lock
October 26th, 2022 at 12:12 PM ^
That is a tough road schedule
October 26th, 2022 at 12:19 PM ^
No different than it was last year. With that, there are some question marks that could tip the balance one way or the other.
-Nebraska. Who will be the coach and can he turn them around quickly?
-Minnesota. Not worried about it
-MSU. How will Mel regroup after this year?
-PSU. That'll be a tough one no matter what.
-Maryland. Not worried about it.
October 26th, 2022 at 12:34 PM ^
I'm not seeing that as particularly tough given the current and future state of those teams. I don't see PSU fixing their lines in one year. Minnesota will have a lot of turnover. MSU who knows about them year to year. Maryland might be the toughest?
October 26th, 2022 at 3:32 PM ^
Maryland is always much closer to a neutral site game than it is an away game. Michigan has to be close to having as many fans there as Maryland does in recent years
October 26th, 2022 at 12:28 PM ^
Based on this year it looks tough, but next year Purdue will lose O'Connell, Minnesota will lose Tanner Morgan and Mo Ibrahim, Maryland will likely be without Taulia, and PSU and OSU will be both starting new QBs
October 26th, 2022 at 12:12 PM ^
Its gonna be jug time baby!
October 26th, 2022 at 12:13 PM ^
Purdue, Minnesota, Nebraska. Solid crossovers. Minnesota may take a step back without Mo or Morgan.
October 26th, 2022 at 12:13 PM ^
Looks like back-to-back-to-back 7-0 starts
October 26th, 2022 at 3:17 PM ^
And why do you not include msu as a win and say 8-0 start?
October 26th, 2022 at 4:10 PM ^
Franz... it's Respekt... no bulletin board material...
October 26th, 2022 at 12:15 PM ^
Weird we play at Minnesota, considering the last time we played them was at Minn in 2020. Big Ten scheduling is the most bizarre mystery.
October 26th, 2022 at 12:15 PM ^
Minnesota in Minneapolis! Might get to take my son to his first Michigan football game. I’m excited.
October 26th, 2022 at 12:25 PM ^
Early October, too. Perfect time of year to visit. I may have to make it up for that one.
October 26th, 2022 at 12:32 PM ^
You’d enjoy it.
October 26th, 2022 at 3:18 PM ^
Only minor snow storms that time of the year in Minnesota
October 26th, 2022 at 3:56 PM ^
Usually a bit early.
Usually. Got 2 inches on the 14th and another 2 the next day this year.
October 26th, 2022 at 12:16 PM ^
At PSU, at Maryland, then OSU is sure going to be a fun few games. Definitely going to have the same "Michigan hasn't played anyone" for the majority of the season.
October 26th, 2022 at 4:31 PM ^
Very tough final stretch.
October 26th, 2022 at 12:16 PM ^
Feel like playing Maryland right before OSU could expose some passing deficiencies with not enough time to correct...
October 26th, 2022 at 1:55 PM ^
Didn't hurt last year...
October 26th, 2022 at 1:59 PM ^
With JJ in second year, this should not be a concern
October 26th, 2022 at 12:16 PM ^
How weird to see Purdue and Minnesota on our schedule. Surprised we’ve got two in a row in Minneapolis (went there in 2020) but they have to balance the schedule somehow. And Purdue hasn’t been to the big house since 2011.
October 26th, 2022 at 12:17 PM ^
For the first time since 2011 we will host our in-conference opponent of Purdue.
In that same span we have hosted Air Force, WMU, and Hawai’i twice.
October 26th, 2022 at 12:18 PM ^
Best home game other than OSU is . . . Rutgers?? Purdue? UNLV? Kind of a weak home slate.
October 26th, 2022 at 12:18 PM ^
OMG the pre-conference schedule isn't that strong. THE HORROR!
What about the kids, won't anyone think of the kids!!

October 26th, 2022 at 12:19 PM ^
I was wondering if Purdue was still in the Big Ten.
October 26th, 2022 at 12:20 PM ^
That schedule is ass, my dude.
October 26th, 2022 at 2:01 PM ^
One cannot overtake ass if ass is not on the schedule.
October 26th, 2022 at 12:21 PM ^
4 home games in September, 1 in October, 2 in November. I know that's how non-conference cupcake scheduling works, but the best months of the season get less than half the home games.
October 26th, 2022 at 12:23 PM ^
Depending on how good Minnesota & Nebraska are next year, could easily go 8-0 next year. Minnesota is gonna lose Ibrahim and Tanner Morgan, and a few OL so I don't see them being able to immediately reload. Nebraska will take a few years to get back to competitive I'd imagine.
I don't know how I feel about the bye week being so late. We'll play a full 8 games before what might be a decently tough November slate, so on one hand, nice to have the break before a rough 4 game slate. On the other hand, a bye that late could do more to disrupt us than help us.
Playing Penn State & Maryland both on the road back-to-back right before Ohio State is less than ideal.
All in all, it seems like our schedule could either be really tough late, or pretty easy overall. Just depends on what Minnesota, Nebraska, Maryland and Michigan State look like next year.
October 26th, 2022 at 12:25 PM ^
As a person near DC, my kingdom for us ever playing @Maryland before November when the weather is nice enough I can convince my wife to go.
October 26th, 2022 at 12:33 PM ^
Fair, but you are lucky to live somewhere where you can see UM in your backyard. I've been waiting for Michigan to come play in the Rose Bowl (in my backyard) since I moved to L.A. in 2009...
October 26th, 2022 at 12:37 PM ^
We played in the first week of October in 2015 @Maryland...
It was during a hurricane and all and my flight got canceled to what was supposed to be a night game :(
October 26th, 2022 at 2:04 PM ^
Yes, this was the one time and then the weather you mentioned happened.
October 26th, 2022 at 12:25 PM ^
Geez those last 5 games of the season are a gauntlet
Now that I'm thinking about it, our B1G West games aren't bad. Minnesota and Purdue will be without O'Connell, Ibrahim, and Morgan then Nebraska is Nebraska
October 26th, 2022 at 12:33 PM ^
Penn State is late enough that it shouldn’t be possible for it be a night game.
The timing of the bye week is less than ideal
October 26th, 2022 at 12:36 PM ^
I think they got rid of those no night games in November rules.
October 26th, 2022 at 1:48 PM ^
Ah, I forgot about the new TV deal. Will have to hope that Big Noon claims it
October 26th, 2022 at 1:02 PM ^
FB,
If I had to put money on things - that Michigan @ Penn State game on November 11th will be a White Out, and - played at night.
Thad references "no B1G night games in November"; however, I think that is "out the window". Last year, Michigan hosted Indiana in November - and, that was a night game.
The most notable "other" B1G game the weekend of November 11th is the Bucks hosting Michigan State.
