Well. This is HUGELY informative!
EDIT: Thanks for the additional information.

Sorry, I usually get it on here quick with a title so double posts don't happen. Then I add info after it's posted.

Great from a competitve standpoint but Fayetteville is widely regarded as the least fun (and most inaccessible) city in the SEC. Sure as hell beats playing Eastern and Western though.

Now we talking 'bout some real good esssss seeee ceeee talent. Vanderbilt just didn't count.

Don't you mean TREMENDOUS?

But we replaced ND with BYU, Hawaii, Arkansas, and Arkansas? If so, not bad given the circumstances.
If those aren't replacements for ND, then ignore my commennt and look at this instead:
November 6th, 2012 at 4:23 PM ^
While there were others I would have liked to have chosen instead, I give credit that it is a program that has had some high-level success, over a fairly long period, and also that it is a home & home against "S-E-C."
Really surprised it is not a more obvious place for alums to gather (e.g., NYC, LA, DC). Fayetteville, and Arkansas in general, is not exactly a destination, nor a place where we get a lot students. Perhaps Wal-mart Wolverines was taken too literally by Brandon? :)
November 6th, 2012 at 8:14 PM ^
NYU, Stoneybrook, the Redskins? LA would be cool, but the other two don't offer much in terms of cempetition, not to mention DC is pretty dumpy. I would like to see a UCLA or USC on the schedule though.

Game would most likely start here in the EST at Midnight. Not good. I complai already about 3:30 starts. Midnight?....
November 6th, 2012 at 2:44 PM ^
It didn't start at midnight. (Or 11...or 10:30...or whatever).
November 6th, 2012 at 2:09 PM ^
I guess Brady Hoke just wants to make a habit of beating his former employers. First SDSU, now Ball State...
The Arkansas build-up should be fun...in six years.
Sometimes when I look that far into the future, I wonder if things like MGoBlog and Touch the Banner will still be in existence...
November 6th, 2012 at 2:12 PM ^
and thought the same thing about myself. not that i thought the same thing, but that i wondered if my self would still - you get the picture.
November 6th, 2012 at 2:47 PM ^
Just at that point they will be wifi implanted into the chips in our brains.
Which is particularly going to be a problem for you when people psychically post about the pics of hot chicks on your site.

Tradition like the banner and fandom like mgoblog last forever
November 6th, 2012 at 4:06 PM ^
I noticed that too. Interestingly enough, he was also a DL coach at Oregon St and Western Michigan. Already beat Western and San Diego St(granted they were on the schedule before he was hired) and now have Oregon St and Ball St on the schedule
Look out Toledo and Grand Valley St, Hoke is coming for you next!

Was following a truck with 2 Razorback decals on the way to work today....may have driven over the other roadkill, though.
5-Year Program FEI (2007-2001) rankings (Michigan is #33):
47 BYU
89 Hawaii
98 Miami (NTM)
88 Ball State
16 Arkansas
Speaking of Ball State, Dave Letterman still owes me a shiny nickel.
November 6th, 2012 at 2:12 PM ^
The top 3 games for that year are:
1) MSU
2) Iowa?
3) Northwestern or maybe Colorado? (if the Buffs somehow get back to respectability, instead of their current run of epic terribleness).
The leftovers are Hawaii, Miami (OH), Ball State and Illinois. Oof.
Regardless of ranking, that will definitely be another StubHub/scalping year.

Michigan doesn't have any high-profile home games here in 2012, but we still have a top-five recruiting class lined up for 2013...
Most kids don't decide on a destination based on the atmosphere of one game. I think you might be overrating the experience a little bit.

Official future schedules through 2016
2016 sure does seem like a terrible home slate unless Colorado turns into something decent by then.
November 6th, 2012 at 3:27 PM ^
For the life of me, I don't understand why we can't work with B1G , OSU, and UNL to break up the let's play 2 of the historical top 10 teams on the road thing to once a year, every other year. I guess it would require either us or one of those schools playing us to have 2 road games in sequential years, but I think I'd be fine with that to even things out in the long run.
Tangential to that thought.... the B1G schedule in 2016 is especially brutal.
November 6th, 2012 at 2:18 PM ^
Per fbschedules.com: (FWIW not posted there yet)
The 2015 BYU game will be 9/12/15, the week Notre Dame vacated, and will be the home opener. @Utah is the week before, and Oregon State and UNLV fill out the non-con.
EDIT: According to the mgoblue.com release, the games were moved around so it's now OSUntosu-UNLV-BYU.
2016 already has a game scheduled in Week 3 against Colorado.
OT but interesting: Nebraska and Oklahoma have agreed to resume their rivalry in 2021-22. Good for them.
November 6th, 2012 at 2:15 PM ^
Is BYU gonna end up a Home and Home? They're a pretty big deal these days. I have a tough time seeing them sign a one-off deal.
November 6th, 2012 at 2:18 PM ^
Yeah, those people from BYU don't like to settle for just one...

November 6th, 2012 at 2:22 PM ^
I thought there was talk about BYU going to the new-look Big East, but apparently they decided to stay independent. Maybe Brandon agreed to a return trip in the future, but didn't announce it with this? We already go to Utah in 2015, I can't imagine going out there again too soon.

I wish I could order my season tickets for 2015 already. Morris should be hitting his stride. Great competition and a good team (hopefully). I moght not be renewing those for 2016. terrible rotation.
Nice to see a SEC home and home.
November 6th, 2012 at 2:31 PM ^
These are probably good schedules considering all the upheavel in the college football world lately. Brandon was probably limited in his choices for the mid teen years. We will probably see a more coordinated schedule as we look into the late teens early twentys.
November 6th, 2012 at 2:33 PM ^
The Arkansas addition is probably a pretty good one - I have to assume they will be out from under the JLS Malaise by then as it is an interim situation and back to their competitive selves. As for the complete schedules published to date, the addition of BYU to the 2015 OOC schedule (now, Utah, Oregon St., UNLV and BYU) makes that one perhaps the most compelling in the 2013-2016 period. In contrast, next year, the OOC schedule is Central Michigan, Notre Dame, Akron and Connecticuit.
November 6th, 2012 at 2:35 PM ^
Not impressed at all. Especially after hearing about the OSU - Oregon home and home coming up. Arkansas - Really? Come on. No one wants to go there for a game, let alone a weekend. You really couldn't get anyone good - Clemson? FSU? Heck, I would rather play UCONN. Give me something we want! That 2016 slate looks like absolute garbage. I realize ND really screwed us over (which was obviously a move for them to get a good team off their schedule so they can actually compete for national titles), but I hoped for better.
November 6th, 2012 at 2:47 PM ^
That about says it all. But you do realize before this year Arkansas would have probably beaten any of those teams you list as you/we wanting to see.
