Late one in Happy Valley.  Penn State is usually pretty pesky and this will be a high scoring affair. a la fun to watch - tune into BTN for a good show.  Go Blue!

I will now be tuning in appreciate the heads up.

Of course BTN will be using the same camera genius that decided the view behind the backboard on free throws was a good idea.

Penn State coming off of getting swept by OSU (5-2, 4-1) but does have a 6-4 win against North Dakota to their name. The rest of their schedule up to this point has been really bad teams do it’s hard to get a real read on them.

Michigan has a talent advantage here (duh) and Penn State’s wide open style of play actually benefits Michigan a ton. Penn State doesn’t have the guns they typically do either, so this could end up one sided. But it’s also “cawlidge hockey” so anything can, and usually does, happen.

Unless I'm missing something, this is way off. Penn State's coach is Guy Gadowsky, who did coach against Michigan with Alaska Fairbanks from 99-04, but I don't remember as being particularly committed to the trap D.

Is it possible you are confusing PSU with Notre Dame, and their coach Jeff Jackson, who was at Lake Superior State (not Miami) in the early 90s, and is very well known for his defensive teams? It's the only possible explanation that makes sense to me.

Interesting observation, except for the fact that Gadowsky has never coached at Miami and is more known for his wide open aggressive style of play than trapping.

I’d assume you’re thinking of George Gwozdecky. He coached at Miami until ‘94, moved on to Denver for a long time, eventually becoming an assistant in Tampa and now is a head coach for Valor Christian high school in Colorado (McCaffrey’s high school)

Are these practice cam clips supposed to be seen as flattering of whoever the PSU captain is? It’s … not coming off that way. In that episode, the kid was leading like what I imagine it’d be like if your petty, medium-merited colleague got the big promotion.
