Watching Bo coach a practice scrimmage from like 30 feet away was one of the highlights of my childhood. I've mentioned it before but there was a point in my childhood when I thought the Rose Bowl was just the last game Michigan played every year. We won a metric fuckton of games when the players were wearing those stickers. I'm happy to see them back.

Really wish they wouldn't mess with the helmets and in general I am a fan of a clean look to uniforms, but it's not my choice and there is every possibility they will grow on me. Go Blue!

Even the smallest ones - whether for motivation or intimidation - can instill confidence or plant seeds of doubt. A brilliant flash of inspiration or a moment of hesitation - either one can make or break a play. This is just one factor among many. Line them up with natural talent, focus, dedication, EUTM, coaching, and a host of other tangible and intangible factors and you eventually get the dominating victories all of us are so hungry for.

Perhaps today!

I dig the overall idea of it. Yeah, after awhile, the helmets may look a bit cluttered with all the stickers but is the look of the lids more important than the motivation and incentive to play up to and beyond potential? I'm glad the stickers are coming back. Because while it's all about the team, The Team, THE TEAM, it takes individuals to make the team and if each individual has extra incentive to play to their maximum potential, I'm gonna stand behind whatever it is Harbaugh and staff is doing to bring that out in the athletes! GO BLUE!!

Yeah, they're not just decoration for decoration's sake.  They serve a purpose.  That's why Bo came up with them when he was trying to resurrect a fallen program.

Now we are back at that same place.  If they can help turn it around under Harbaugh like they did under Bo, they will be a thing of beauty.

Hey, if this is something that helps the team then I am all for it. I am at the point where I am wondering if the program is cursed? QBs turn into interception machines, running backs can't seem to live up to hype/potential, and there have been too many injuries to key players the last few years.

...I've been feeling that way for the last few years, now, man. I know we've had some inept coaching over the past 7 or so years but it seems like good prep players come here and lose their way. There has been some exceptions of course but for the most part, I've been scratching my temple in disbelief and befuddlement for the last few years.

You're all a bunch of whiny piss babies. The unwillingness to do anything different is the exact reason why Michigan has fallen, players resent the fans, and it's difficult to get top players to come here. They could walk out of the tunnel in clown shoes and parachute pants for all I care. No matter what we support the team. Stop fretting over every last detail like you deserve some input because you went to school here or have cheered for the team for 30 years. Let Jim be Jim and resurrect the program. Just win baby.

Harbaugh said something the other day to the effect that he's always wanted to win all the games, win all the awards.  These are awards for performance. It's part of building a meritocracy.

than how WE like the stickers is what effect it has on team chemistry and other intangibles in the locker room. Most of us can only surmise what that might be like, since we aren't there with them in the locker room.

I'm not very good at metaphors, but if winning is a mouthwash, think of helmet stickers as toothpicks!
