Baylor has the best smoke and the higest quality of mirrors I've seen in quite some time.
They're playing 2 RBs, 2 WRs and a 3rd string QB all at the QB position and each is effective. Mainly just running right up the middle.

with a 400lb fullback, haha.

Also, has UNC never seen the wildcat before?
December 29th, 2015 at 7:03 PM ^
...except that in the pro style, the players make the system. With this Baylor offense, it's clearly the other way around.

I just realized ESPN has changed its college football theme music. When did that happen?
This theme was classic:
December 29th, 2015 at 7:18 PM ^
It's when they introduced this new score overlay as well.
December 29th, 2015 at 8:02 PM ^
I love that theme. It is the essence of college football.
I'm a college football snob. I hate that Fox is too lazy to come up with a CFB-specific theme and just recycles their NFL theme. Hate it.

lost a DB early in the game over a targeting call. Thought it was a garbage call.
This UNC Baylor makes me think Clemson could be in trouble.

I don't think this is targeting. But this is the same crew (led by John O'Neill) from the MSU game, so I wouldn't hold my breath on it being overturned.

Bullshit if they throw this kid out...he got drilled in the shoulder and the WR bit his tongue.

I'm not an anatomy genius by any stretch of the imagination, but last time I checked, the shoulder sure as shit isn't in the head or neck area. Sheesh.

December 29th, 2015 at 7:20 PM ^
I hate that rule.
December 29th, 2015 at 7:20 PM ^
What a HORSESHIT call.
If you helmet comes off, you have to stop playing. But it's now 11 on 10 and your team is at a disadvantage.
If you're going to call that, then stop the whole play. You can't give an advantage to the other team.
December 29th, 2015 at 7:39 PM ^
The rule may or may not be horseshit, but the call wasn't. The call was 100 percent correct.
The problem with your suggestion is that if a player ever breaks into the clear and is heading for the endzone, and a defensive player's helmet happens to come off before the player reaches the endzone, the ref would stop play and prevent a touchdown, to the great advantage of the team whose player happens to lose a helmet.
December 29th, 2015 at 7:59 PM ^
The RULE is horseshit. And it is.
It gives an advantage for the other team...you are forced to finish the play a man down.
If you're going to call it, blow the play dead or something - which I don't agree with.
If you're in position to make a play and your helmet comes off, you're just supposed to stop and give up on the sack, or the tackle? Or if you're on offense you're just supposed to stop running your route or quit blocking?
What if it's an OL? So he's just supposed to stop and let his QB get killed? What kind of player safety is THAT?

December 29th, 2015 at 7:39 PM ^
Kelly will need to sit a year - work for ESPN for a year (if he wants) and he'll get his pick (including Texas) next year.
I listed 6 schools in the other thread.
Selfishly, I want to see him at Penn St. in 2017. He'd be a GREAT fit for the University, he's a New England guy, and the B1G East would be insane.

A tough SEC West didn't hurt Bama, did it? Why can we be Bama with Harbaugh at the helm? Hell, even LSU, they've won a NC. As has Auburn.
What's wrong?
December 29th, 2015 at 8:10 PM ^
The SEC West is pretty tough, yes, but Saban is unquestionably the best coach in it. Who's the second-best coach in the division? Miles? Freeze? Eh. I don't think you can compare any of them to Urban Meyer.
Now throw in Dantonio and Harbaugh's got a pretty tough row to hoe, with two of the very best coaches in CFB in his own division. Now, Chip Kelly on top of that? That'd be insane.
December 29th, 2015 at 8:39 PM ^
December 29th, 2015 at 7:54 PM ^
The B1G East is tough enough. Why would we want to make it even tougher on us?
December 29th, 2015 at 8:05 PM ^
Because we're not pussies.
Like I just said, Bama, LSU and Auburn have all won NC's recently and played in multiple NC games or top flight bowl games.
Bama has dominated college football and they've done it from the toughest division in college football over the past 10 years. They didn't do it from the SEC East which has been much easier. They didn't do it from the B1G West which is a joke.
I'd argue that over the past 10 years, there are 3 schools who've had better programs in the SEC West than ANY of school in the SEC East with exception to Florida (Tebow years).
