'17-'18 Depth Chart: Version 7 ("Game Week/Live Roster Edition")

Notes:
- HORRAY for a general "consensus" from the insiders and folks with spring/fall football updates!
- REMEMBER - just because a guy is listed as a redshirt doesn't mean he won't play. Brian wrote something in the spring about "unburned redshirts." (IMO guys like Stueber, Filiaga, J. Hudson, Anthony, Singleton, St.-Juste may all fit this description).
- This has some "projection" to it - I'm not concerned with the guy who may start game 1 because he's being rewarded for a strong fall camp even though we know the guy behind him is the real "starter."
- On the same token, "starter" isn't who is physically on the field for the first snap of the first possession (which may be dictated by formation or play call)...it's who's going to be playing the majority of the game.
- This will be the final version before the REAL depth chart is witnessed in Game 1, but I will try and go back and update this throughout the year to keep it as current as possible. I've added KR/PR even though those are a complete shot in the dark except for Nate Johnson on PR.

I love everything I see there. It makes me incredibly optimistic for the season.
Except our secondary. With the exception of Kinnel, we're greener back there than a Sparty fan lying in his own vomit on the front lawn...

Thanks, that's actually a change I had before my computer went to shit.
From what it sounds like, they're 1A/1B to start opposite Crawford, but both will play and play together a good amount.

- At QB/RB/FB/WR/TE...chemistry is my only concern. If they can find chemistry and a rhythm, I think we could be as good or better in every area except TE (where "as good" is just fine).
- No matter who won that RT battle, I was always going to be concerned at that spot. Still not sold at RG either. I'm hope is they survive game 1 and by the time they get to Happy Valley they're true B1G calibur OL. I think the left side of the OL will be better noticeably better than last year.
- Look at that NG depth and look at our current '18 recruiting class. Something is missing. Same with DT. There is no reason why we shouldn't have a couple of Top 150 guys at NG and DT by the time Signing Day rolls around.
- I still have no idea what to do with the backup LBs...I hate that SLB position and I'm very tempted to move them all to OLB. The problem is, when team go BIG, this replaces or is in addition to the VIPER position.
- Like everyone has said, the secondary is extremely concerning. I know Peppers is Peppers, and we need OL help, but Jourdan Lewis may be the guy I take if I could take 1 guy from last year and add him to this roster.

I thought Harbaugh said this week that Evans was 1 and Higdon/Isaac were 2A/2B.

Harbuagh did say that. I agree that it should be Evans at 1 with 2A/B split of Higdon and Isaac.

Jordan Anthony should definitely play this year considering how thin we are at LB and McCray graduating at the end of the year. Question is, who is going to be wearing the #1 jersey come game time - Anthony or Thomas? Both need to get some game experience this year just because we don't have the depth to afford them not playing.
