The Haka challenge from the New Zealand Maori is always impressive. Somewhat strange when you see it for the first time before a sporting event, and it could get old after you've seen it several times.
I can understand why Team 134 might be looking for a new identity with this. Just not sure whether the coaches would approve.
Wonder whether some of the members of Team 134 might venture onto the court at Crisler before tonight's game for a pre-game Haka invitaiton to tsio.
Would like to know who was leading the Haka at Mock Rock.
Here's a Haka from New Zealanders:

I don;t know if Hawaii still does it, but for a while they did it before the start of the games. Don't think it'll fly here at Michigan as it's not really part of the area's culture.

I believe it was Suome Huoma (spelling) the freshman fullback from Utah. He looks much bigger than I thought he would be.

Men's rowing did a great job with their skit and track and field was another favorite of mine.

Men's Rowing wins. The lion character was a female, correct? Men's and Women's Rowing win?
February 5th, 2013 at 3:22 PM ^
I don't think that is a member of the Women's Rowing team. They had their own skit.

The young lion in the first half was one of the female coxswains on the team. The older lion that did the dancing and was held up at the end was male.

Men's team is club and is therefore allowed to have women on the team (all of whom are coxswains)

Wait a second, didn't the crew team do Lion King a few years ago? Same costumes and everything?

Yup, they won in 2007 with just the Circle of Life.
