(good job, great job, but ugh.)
For those of you who enjoy rotating wallpapers during the season to
mock highlight our weekly opponents, I thought I'd submit one for Appalachian State. I hope to have a new one each Monday (yeah, I know this one is early), similar to what momuMental has done in seasons past. In my opinion, his work is second to none (if you haven't yet had the privilege, check it out) but I believe he only does wallpapers for marquee opponents now. If that's still the case, I'll continue to offer a wallpaper on Mondays. If not, I'll kindly cease and desist :-).
For the Appalachian State game, I struggled with whether to dub it "the Horror II" or not. On the one hand, it's awefully catchy and reminds us why Dave Brandon even thought this game would be mildly interesting. On the other, it seems to suggest the possibility that this year's game could have a similar outcome which... [insert curse word]. In the end, like Brandon, I went with brand recognition. Without further ado, I give you:

(good job, great job, but ugh.)
I cannot commemorate that game.
but I just can't put that on my PC. Seems like bad karma to revisit the Hindenburg disaster.
Letting my hate flow.
DO NOT WANT.
(NOT BECAUSE OF YOU.)
but just can't bring myself to set as wallpaper.
I work halfway between Toledo and Columbus - way too many NO$U slappies around these parts.
should get massive hydrogen fireballs approved for the game.....
But since you have skills, perhaps you can modify this to make the tank maize and blue with a block M, and the remains of the car whatever it is App State looks like:
"Putting App State in our fucking rearview mirrors for good"
I would put that on my screen.
Looks cool but you can tell from the naked eye that the resolution is not good enough.
"I'm no art critic, but I know what I hate."
(I think the graphic is well-done, but the concept is not suited to Michigan fans. I'd expect to see this from an MSU website, except the spelling on your wallpaper is correct.)
It was meant more as a comment on the lose-lose aspect of scheduling such a game and captures the feeling we'll all have every time the Horror is mentioned or replayed on screen
I really do think it's very well done, and hope you stay in the wallpaper game. Maybe my aversion to the wallpaper is I'm still in denial that Michigan ever played (and ever would play) Appalachian State. You see, your wallpaper perpetuates a rumor about a game that never happened and never will.
/reburies head in sand - awaits season opener at NDU/
Even if we win 80-0, the first two minutes of the clip will be The Horror "highlights", and then they will say, "But today, Michigan did not lose."
brings a little pain. Keep up the good work and I hope to see you continue these throughout the season.
buck up people.
Nice work. Keep 'me coming.
It's a shame that no one will actually use this as wallpaper because it is well done.
Pun intended. Quality work. I hereby issue you whatever is the opposite of cease and desist. Continue and persist?
Something something Danger Zone
Can you make one in regards to revenge.....justice....right the wrong....never again....please God not another Terror?
I might actually use that just because the picture looks so damn good and I'm incredibly pumped for football to be back. I've also been using the MBB bench reaction to the infamous Burke 3 against Kansas. I love that background and all, but I think it might be time to move on.
I'll rock it. Thanks for the good work! Hope to see a weekly wallpaper from you.
Is the guy at the top of the tower seemingly ignorant of the explosion supposed to be Dave Brandon?
It's only "The Horror II" if we lose.
Right now, it's just..."The Reminder."
I'm looking for a Jabrill Peppers schedule wallpaper???
Interesting but, I wouldn't use it.
This is probably one of the best done things that I want absolutely nothing to do with...
For the life of me I'll never understand why DB decided to schedule a Kobayashi Maru just as the collective memory of The Horror was just starting to fade at least on campus... then again there was the giant noodle...
It's really well done and I'm looking forward to seeing this type of skill applied to games that don't make me want to drown in whiskey
