WTKA Roundtable 9/9/2021: You Weren't Kidding Comment Count

Seth September 9th, 2021 at 10:33 AM

Things discussed:

  • Understand run-run-run when Zinter is in there.
  • Sam: They didn’t think he would play much.
  • Vastardis! We were both down at him, but he had a game, was reading Ralph Holley well. The Henning TD was mostly Vastardis—Sam noted they also bluffed the DE with a feint from Vastardis. Graham Glasgow-esque job vs Holley.
  • Filiaga didn’t miss assignments. Good matchup for him.
  • Ronnie Bell on his way to a Heisman before we lost him. We talk about That Catch!
  • John O’Neill crew: Seth says it’s seriously time to do something. Keep the woman, let her build her own crew. Every single down these guys are screwing something up.
  • Breaktalk: Ron Hefley is playing for Kevin Kelly, the coach who doesn’t punt.
  • Washington talk: John Donovan sucks. He’s got a 6’3” guy playing RT and a 6’8” guy playing G.
  • Michigan defense: they’re putting a LOT on their plates. Safeties look well-coached. Green can’t plan zone. Vincent Gray can’t play man, except he did well against WMU’s fast guy.
  • Seth pronounces UW names.

These guys can’t keep refereeing Big Ten games. It’s a clown show.

John O'Neil has a personal vendetta against Harbaugh. It appears there are multiple refs who hate him, ie. the phantom holding call on Hidgon against Northwestern a couple years ago. O'Neil is the worst.....

I mean his point about some crews just not liking Harbaugh and it possibly impacting calls is true though, one of the officials from the OSU game in 2016 admitted as much. As far as the O'Neil crew I have no idea if they are one of them but one thing is for sure they are god awful. They are the same crew that threw a starting LB, Bolden, out against MSU in 2015 for targeting when he was literally thrown on the QB by a o-line. It's definitely a disgrace that the Big Ten allows such an awful crew to stick around regardless.

Correct.  The 2016 The Game Crew (the ones that called Harbaugh for a basketball penalty) were all OSU homers, publicly known as such, admitted as such, and had been previously banned due to their extremely obvious impropriety.  They're gone now, but they and the B1G got away with brazenly stealing that game.

O'Neill is not that. His crew is more like a live hand grenade.  Lacking any malice (and intelligence), nonetheless highly destructive.  After the Bolden ejection, they screwed MSU out of their until-then perfect record the very next week (IIRC Nebraska).  They do not have a vendetta against anyone.  They're merely what you'd expect when you let something dumb and explosive officiate a football game.

It takes corruption on the order of the B1G to allow OSU fans to officiate a Michigan-OSU game.  It takes incompetence on the order of the B1G to hire a munition and put it in a position with responsibility.

Huskies WRs just arent going to scare anyone this year, and our CBs I think will bode well this saturday in both zone and man.

You lock that shit down and make them one dimensional (keep an eye on their TE thought) and M should win this by 10+

Seeing Montana just abuse that Oline, which was just wow, makes me feel better about this game.

Go out and whoop this team
