Next stop for the Dominos plane is an airport approximately 90 miles from San Diego. Touchdown is scheduled for about 6 PM.

UPDATE: Local paper has picked up on this and put some meat on the bones, at least sort of:

The agent for San Diego State head football coach Brady Hoke has been in discussions for Hoke to possibly become the next head coach at the University of Michigan, a source close to the situation said.

Trace Armstrong, Hoke's agent, has declined comment. Hoke and other SDSU officials have not returned messages for several days.

Hoke was in the Los Angeles area Tuesday recruiting for SDSU. Meanwhile, Michigan Athletic Director Dave Brandon has planned to fly to nearby Orange County for a meeting Tuesday.

So… he's in LA, where Brandon is apparently meeting him. It's unclear how much of this is solid, but… yeah. Probably solid. This "national" search is national in the sense that people who played or coached at Michigan comprise a nation, which they do not.

UPDATE II: Despite the newspaper article above I have two sources saying that the Domino's plane is now being used by, you know, Domino's, and is no longer ferrying Dave Brandon around. There is a conference called ICR going on that starts tomorrow in Dana Point, California and features a presentation by Domino's at 8:25 AM, so the above newspaper article may be speculation or wrong or this is false hope and Dave Brandon is in some other jet.

UPDATE III: Our respite was brief:

SDSU Coach Brady Hoke recently visited with Michigan, source says

If we're seriously talking to him he's all but announced since he'll take twenty dollars and donuts twice a week to coach at M.

I believe Brady Hoke is the event that will trigger the destruction of the world in 2012 as the Mayan's predicted. In fact, the face in the center of the calendar itself could be Hoke himself. Doom!!!

Unless Hoke's agent is based in LA. Then again, a lot of coaches probably have agents based in LA? Still, most likely this is the Hoke interview, but Brandon plans to interview other candidates, and he is trying to muddy the waters by not flying straight into SD.

Still holding out faint hope for a surprise hire. But assuming it's Hoke, DB would have made a much better case for Hoke had he boldly pulled the trigger early on. Now he's making the guy look like the last slutty fat girl at the dance. Way to unite the fan-base, pizza boy.

I personally believe it has been hoke all along and the miles thing was just to satisfy that faction of the boosters/alum, so DM met with him and made him an offer he couldn't deal with so now it's on LM and not himself that he is not the next coach. No insight here just my 2 cents FWIW.

If that's the case -- and it may be -- then DB is an even bigger boob. A strong leader wouldn't dance or waste time. He'd say "Hoke is the one. Trust me. End of story."

DB went on and on about being his own man, making decisive choices, and not kowtowing. But he's projecting the exact opposite. And he's insulting our intelligence.
Unless he lands a bigger fish.

If it's Hoke then what was all this talk by DB about paying "market value" for coaches???

If Hoke gets $5 mil/year (or even $3 mil) it will be a massive misuse of funds and DB should be fired.

Good coaches with proven records aren't making anywhere near that. A $5MM contract--hell, even a $3MM contract--for a guy who's unproven in the big leagues...well, I do believe that's grounds for rioting and terminations. Especially since we're likely to go below .500 again with another radical shift in offensive strategy.

allowed 35 hours of personal use, which he probably exhausted between the Scottsdale-Vegas-Scottsdale-Dallas-Baton Rouge-Willow Run trek he just took.

He is uniting the family! Now, instead of arguing about RR or the next coach, we can all hold hands and agree that Brandon has screwed up his 'search' in unimaginable ways. We are fam-i-ly!

Reading these comments is sickening. It's clear that we've learned nothing from the last three years. Get over yourselves, let this play out and let's see something on the field before losing our minds and acting like a bunch of whiny douches.

Impressed whoever is providing the timely updates. However, maybe time to update the Brandon graphic. I have a hard time continuing to view him as the stoic leader during this mess. Hell, the cat has even gone overboard.

Srsly, I did look through the posts but couldn't find any status information. Wasn't there supposed to be a team meeting starting about ... ummm ... now?

back on these posts, I can't help but wonder where all of these negative people are? I was a RR guy but thought a change was needed. I trusted in DB and the Michigan system, as many did.

When Hoke was announced, I too, was surprised by the lack of "sizzle", "sexy", or whatever adjective you choose to describe "it". I did not want Miles or Harbaugh for each of their past negative actions against the school.

So 6 weeks into the new season, Denard is still with us and in better playing form, we have stolen a 5 star recruit from tosu, we have broke the top 10 since before RR even knew Ann Arbor wasn't are "real" person, and we could be headed for the first B1G Title game.

Man, how soon we forget.
