Today's recruiting roundup discusses Laquon Treadwell's new top five, the Gareon Conley non-situation, last weekend's high school football action, and more.

Noted Amateur Chef Names Top Five

As you'll learn from the above video, IL WR Laquon Treadwell apparently has some talent in the kitchen in addition to the football field. You'll also find out that he has a new top five, in no particular order, of Oklahoma, Oklahoma State, Ole Miss, Michigan State, and Michigan. It appears this was "Interview Laquon Treadwell Week" as you learn from various sources that:

Treadwell has official visits in the works for Oklahoma, Oklahoma State, and Ole Miss, and plans to take unofficials to Ann Arbor (for the MSU game) and East Lansing before making a decision.

As for the direction this one is headed, I don't know, man. I still feel like Michigan has a better shot than any other school on the list; the problem is there are four other schools on the list, and the only choice that would truly shock me is Michigan State. We'll see what he's saying after his visit for the State game; if Michigan hasn't distinguished themselves from the field at that point, it's cause for serious concern.

Hey, that's my face, after this...

Brad Bournival from BuckeyeNation was out at Gareon Conley's game tonight. Conley spoke about what he has on deck as far as recruiting.

"Headed to Cincy tomorrow. My parents, they just want me to look at other schools. I’m still committed (to Michigan)," he said.

...led to a 165-comment board thread with a whole lot of "goodbye/good riddance/let's just get McQuay" talk—not to mention some more offensive crap that earned a banhammering—before anyone waited to see how the coaches would deal with the matter. Oh, hey, the coaches dealt with the matter, via Tim Sullivan ($):

Well, the Michigan coaches caught wind of the visit, and let Conley know that they didn't want him to take the visit. Thanks to a quick reaction, Conley is no longer heading to the Queen City today.

"No, we canceled it," he said of a visit to Cincinnati.

We went through this before not even three months ago with David Dawson. In that instance, Dawson tweeted about taking a visit to Florida, Michigan fans had a meltdown, and the coaches stepped in and reminded Dawson that he would no longer be considered a commit if he took the visit—Dawson cancelled and everybody felt stupid.

High school kids will be high school kids, and it's not a surprise that one of Michigan's many early commits would think about looking around, then talk about looking around without discussing it with the coaches. As we've seen before, usually a chat with the coaches resolves the issue—only 2012 TE Pharaoh Brown lost his commitment status with the current staff after a visit, and he snuck over to Oregon without informing the coaches.

So, maybe think twice next time before posting that comment about how [commit X] isn't that good anyway and it's about damn time a spot opened up for [uncommitted player Y], okay?

Conley caught touchdown passes of 18 and 33 yards to help Massillon Washington to a 34-14 victory over previously undefeated Austintown Fitch on Friday.

Only One Interception?

According to TomVH, Wyatt Shallman recorded eight tackles (two TFL), two sacks, and a forced fumble in Catholic Central's 20-14 loss to Brother Rice on Saturday. That wasn't close to the most impressive stat-line of the day, however, if this isn't a massive typo or anything:

Even Bill Brasky thinks that's a little outlandish.

Joining Shallman with impressive defensive performances over the weekend were fellow commits Maurice Hurst Jr. (three sacks) and Taco Charlton (six tackles, two TFL).

Cass Tech continues to run roughshod over the PSL, notching a 49-0 decision over Mumford on Friday. Jourdan Lewis tallied a 20-yard touchdown run and a 60-yard punt return touchdown as the Technicians moved to 6-1 overall (5-0 PSL). At that same link you can see that Khalid Hill recorded a 30-yard TD reception for The Ville.

Jake Butt followed up last weekend's stellar performance with four catches for 56 yards and three touchdowns—along with a tackle for loss on defense—in a Pickerington North victory. Other offensive standouts included DeVeon Smith (150 rushing yards and three touchdowns) and JaRon Dukes (two catches for 30 yards and a TD). Defensive commits Ben Gedeon (13 carries, 70 yards, two touchdowns) and Ross Douglas (18 carries, 139 yards, three touchdowns) also had productive games on the other side of the ball.

In other commitment news, Logan Tuley-Tillman (TomVH story) and Henry Poggi (Chantel Jennings story) each received their Under Armour All-American jerseys last week.

Etc.

Michigan's latest 2014 offer went out last week($) to Cleveland Glenville ATH Marshon Lattimore, who also boasts offers from Ohio State and USC, among several others. At 6'0", 185 pounds, Lattimore is a legitimate BCS prospect as both a defensive back and slot receiver—it's not clear right now which side of the ball he's being targeted for by Michigan.

Tremendous has an early list of Illinois visitors; no 2013 uncommitted prospects are slated to attend, but there are several juniors who will be on campus, including four-star IL OL Jamarco Jones.

While I was quite pleased to see our switch back to Manball for Purdue, and hope that such things continue, I can't help by think that hurts our stock in the eyes of Treadwell.

I agree that the Conley meltdown was premature and I did not participate.  What I do find MILDLY concerning is that (a) the coaches have a very strict no visit policy, and (b) commitments apparently are not clear on this or forget this policy (which could jeordardize their commitments) and need to be "reminded."  Maybe this is unavoidable with a group of 17 year olds or maybe the coaches need to make sure that policy is being communicated more clearly.  So far, there really has not been any misunderstanding fallout so, until there is more evidence to the contrary, I assume they players were informed of the policy and simply forgot about it.  No big deal at this point.

"I KNOW BILL BRASKY!" "I WANNA BE YOUR DEAR FRIEND!" lol, the original. Before chuck norris and the few that followed there was Bill, he had a cobra he'd walk on a leash while wearing a tux and it once bit his maid. So, with tears in his eyes, Brasky had to shoot the maid. Have all vids on my ipod and watch them often.

Hello people! Who is familiar with Blessed CBD oil? If you are not, then it is worth getting acquainted. This remedy has improved my inner state. I just feel cheerful in the morning no more irritability. They say that I have changed in appearance, but like any male representative, I do not pay much attention to such things.
