I am headed for East Lansing very early in the morning so I should put this up now so that it actually gets done. Here it is. Please see the Liveblog Chaos Mitigation Post for information on how to be an excellent liveblog participant.

Go Blue. If I don't post by Monday, avenge my death.

I wanted to know what people thought about this...

So part of MSU's gameplan is definitely to get some hits on Denard. Denard has been going out of bounds on his own more often, but in the open field has still taken hits and gotten tackled. I really hope he takes some slides today, but not only to protect his body. Sparty is heavily penalized as it is and the extra energy they will have from this being a rivalry game and being at home will lead to undisciplined plays and trying to make big hits, etc. If Denard slides (or runs out of bounds), I am very confident that a Sparty will still try to make a hit because they haven't seen Denard slide and wouldn't expect it. Flags will be thrown, 15 yards added to Denard sized run and a first down. Even if this works ONCE, it'll be worth it.

New package from Borges: Denard in the shotgun with Vincent smith close to his left. Snap; time stops. Denard and smith lock arms, begin flapping their magical dreads and lift off like the bikes in e.t. Then from high above, they rain down hellfire from their finger pistols, smiting the east lansing sinners and fly straight back to AA, Paul bunyan in tow.

I am not impressed with Borges play calling today. 4th and inches and calls a trick play. Denard has been making terrible decisions all day long.

Horrible offensive play calling by Gorgeous today. Not only did he show a lack of faith in D Rob by unnecessarily inserting Gardner in the game but now he's opened up the floodgates for a quarterback controversy in Ann Arbor for the rest of the season. Denard deserves better than that! State defense played a dirty game and that definitely reflects on the leadership and that coaching staff. Gholston should have been out for that punch amongst other things and that pick six should have been negated for taunting. I'm so pissed right now!

This is all very accurate. Can't believe we lost to those classless thugs. Reflection of their coach. That crap is tolerated, if not encouraged, by Dantonio. But they are willing to pay any price and take multiple flags for personal fouls and offsides to beat Michigan. And that they did. Blitzed like madmen, made DR uncomfortable on throws and blew away the O line. Very disappointed right now. If you can't get a foot with the best running QB in college football, pack it in. I'm disgusted.

The D-line really failed to show up and get any pass rush going. I felt like we abandoned the run far too early. That game hinged on the 4th and 1 play, and we failed. Too much Gardener at times, but why is up for debate. I'd like to know the Hoke thoughts on their personal foul total. It seemed as though this game was just another game for Michigan, very little emotion on the sidelines at all.

Ugh, flight of ideas leads to no answers.

In Hoke we trust...

The players didn't play well enough, that's for sure. We didn't block well enough, we didn't tackle well enough, the players lost the game. But the coaching staff was an abomination and certainly put the team in position to fail with incomprehensible decisions all afternoon. Here are just a few of the issues I have with Hoke, Borges and Co:

-Why was Borges constantly taking Denard out of the game or putting him as a wideout?
---On our second play, Gardner comes in to play QB?
---On the second play of ours 2nd possession, after going down the field the first possession for a score, Gardner comes in to play QB?
---On our first play after an MSU turnover in the 3rd quarter, Gardner comes in to play QB?

-We gambled on a fake FG on our first possession, why did we suddenly start playing scared after that?
---4th and 4 at MSU 36 in 2nd qtr, we punted with wind at our backs
---4th and 8 at MSU 37 with 1:37 left in 2nd qtr, we punted again

-Why did we choose to kick into the wind to start the 2nd half?
-In conjunction with that, why did we choose a stupid squib-type kick instead of just kicking off and tackling, like we did successfully into the wind after our TD in 1st qtr

-Why no screen passes against a team playing to get to the QB on every down no matter what?

-WHY ON EARTH WAS DENARD TRYING A FAKE PLAY ON 4TH AND INCHES? WE HAD ALL THE MOMENTUM, A 1ST DOWN GIVES US FOUR CRACKS FROM THE 9, THE DEFENSE WAS ON THEIR HEELS. THIS WAS THE WORST DECISION ON A DAY OF AWFUL DECISIONS!!!

-That's a mediocre Michigan State team. We made them look great on defense for much of the game. When we finally had a chance to steal a win that we didn't deserve, we call one of the dumbest plays I've ever seen. And it came on the heels of a slow developing run call on the previous 4th and 1 just moments earlier, which Denard saved at the last second. It's going to take a while to let this one go.
