Michigan Injury Report for Iowa
This isn't the most interesting Michigan press release you'll read today, but it'll suffice. To the press release!:
OUT (0% PLAY)
Jones, Mike.....................................................Leg
Odoms, Martavious.......................................Foot
Toussaint, Fitzgerald....................................Shoulder
Van Slyke, Jared............................................Clavicle
Williams, Mike................................................Head
Woolfolk, Troy.................................................Ankle
Van Slyke, Williams, and Woolfolk have been out the entire season, and Mike Jones has been out since the Notre Dame game with a broken leg (for which he should be able to get a redshirt).
That leaves Martavious Odoms and Fitzgerald Toussaint as the new(ish) guys. Toussaint will miss this week, and will return for the Penn State game at the soonest. Odoms broke his foot against State and will be out for an extended time. We've known both of these since Monday, so in that respect, the is the most encouraging injury report we've seen this year.
Anyone else surprised he did not see the field vs MSU? Thought he was effective prior to his injury
That's practically encouraging . . .
Crunch. Zip. Live to fight another day.
last weeks' injury report IIRC. He was supposed to give Roh more DE time last week.
It's nice to not see Shaw on the list. I think he's really going to help the offense out. Vincent Smith isn't impressing me, and it will be nice to see another homerun threat in the backfield against a defense that probably won't give us many opportunities. I will be incredibly pleased if Roh is allowed to stay at DE for the vast majority of the game saturday.
This is kind of a side note, but, to me, the defense looks like it has changed from the bend don't break defense to the break don't bend. It seemed as though the defense held MSU in check for a good portion of the game with scoring drives coming off of a big run/pass, or a key large 3rd down conversion. There's still a lot of work to be done, but the defense seems to be moving in the right direction. If the defense catches a break or two Saturday while holding onto the ball, I think Michigan can win it.
I can only continue to reference the fact that I live in an onion factory.
Tay Odoms will be missed, especially in tight games. Sure the WR position is deep. What we will sorely miss is his on the field leadership. Go back and watch the ND game, his smile when he or Roundtree got hit hard and his swagger were key. His confidence was contagious for a young offense.
Good points. Don't forget his blocking. He is a big loss.
"If you shoot me, you're liable to lose a lot of those humanitarian awards."
With Odoms out do we know who gets the start? I'd love to see Ricardo Miller get some big plays.
Glad to have Shaw back in the lineup. And with the defensive performance so far, you almost wish that we'd get a whole new cast in there ... or oust GRob, but c'est la vie.
Any speculation about what the biggest press release WILL BE today? Because bama was announced yesterday...or was that just a turn of phraise I'm not familiar with?
May T-Force Be With Us.
the absence of Martin on this list makes me very very very happy.
2013 resolution - make it onto the 2014 favorite MGoPosters post, not ironically
i wish i would have made my screen name "IT WAS THE CHAIR"
Life without MM in the middle for a whole game, especially against a bunch of bulldozers like Iowa, would make for a long day. Hopefully the injury is fully cleared up and nothing that will linger.
"I am delighted to have you play football. I believe in rough, manly sports."

He has to be the most snake-bit person in the history of people. It seems like he could be good if he weren't made of papier mache, or graham crackers, or whatever.
Does it say Deke on the paper? Are there any other Dekes in your class?

It looks as if we can assume all the others not on this report are expected to be 100% come Saturday. Let's hope for a big day by Shaw which in turn should open up some long runs by Denard.
