That was terrifying. Hurrah for the regression to the mean on lean twos and floaters off the dribble. They were who we thought they were, weren’t they? Smith struggled with length but his offensive creation wasn’t missed when Chaundee was on the court. Also how nice is it that Michigan has so many guys who can win them a game? Also the refs: 10 really bad calls, split unevenly, felt worse because every possession was life or death.
2. Previewing FSU

Remember the last FSU team? They’re like that: super duper tall, use a lot of bench in weird places, including having the best player on their team, Scottie Barnes, coming off the bench. This is because they can’t defend the rim without their two 7-foot centers who haven’t faced a lot of post-ups. Not great off-the-dribble shooters which is good news because no guard is less than 6’4”.

We survey the carnage of our conference mates who didn’t make it out of the opening weekend, from least to most disappointing. Rutgers is now in the Big Ten since they didn’t make it out of Round 2 despite being expected to win at some point.

Hot takes are fun. I'd like to add that screeching is not fun. I get that it's meant to be ironic, implicitly mocking out-of-control screechers, but it's still screeching.
Its like a giant stepping on the muppet Gonzo and thats the death squeal he lets out. NO MAS! Please give us your most ear canal forgiving takes.
I enjoy it. Not hard to turn the volume down.

Different coach, different team, different approach.
I think you could make the same argument for Washington leaving (won't get any better) for Liddell. His main weakness is his height.

EDIT: I just want to add that I listen to a lot of podcasts.More than is healthy. Anything from political commentary/comedy to audiodrama. Brian, not only are you an incredibly funny writer you have great potential as a podcast host. You should expand your horizons beyond just talking about sports.
I like the podcast for the same reason I like the blog. Having said that, I wouldn't say Brian (or the others) is a natural for podcasts or radio. It's part of the reason he does the schtick of making some of the flubs (e.g., very visual podcast) part of the podcast.

Idk how Brian watched this game and thought the officiating was in any way consistent. It seemed like every 5 minutes they changed which team they'd give favorable calls
