Ethan Burke Has Committed to Michigan Comment Count

Following Joel Starlings' commitment a few days ago, Michigan picks up their second commitment since The Game. This time, it's a 2022 prospect in DE Ethan Burke:

Burke is a late-rising prospect from Westlake, Texas. His status as a late-riser means he has yet to register on the 24/7 composite, but 24/7 themselves have ranked him as a 3.5* and the #42 edge prospect in the class. The On3 consensus opinion has him as a 4* and the #32 edge prospect in the class. Burke had offers from KSU, Utah, Texas Tech, and Baylor. An injury he suffered as a junior set back his development, and he also dabbled as a lacrosse player (once committed to Maryland for lax), making Burke a rather unique prospect. Michigan's staff appears quite high on him and Burke took his official visit this weekend for The Game. The spectacle seemed to have worked, as the Wolverines snared his commitment.

Michigan currently has the 17th ranked recruiting class for 2022, but with many big targets still out there in the final few weeks before Early Signing Day, including 5* OT Josh Conerly Jr., and 4* DBs Keon Sabb and Zeke Berry. There is no content after the jump.

Looks like a solid pickup, but would really like to see more skill positions.  I'm really hoping they have some silents and are capitalizing on this momentum.

I've been to a few of his games this year as one of our family friend's sons is one of the offensive starters for the Chaparrals (yes, that's their mascot)

He's been very dominant, but it's difficult to tell as they haven't played a lot of great teams and they're rolling through the playoffs. He's very, very lanky. Going to need to put on a bunch of muscle weight ... obviously.

Welcome aboard Ethan - hope you pick up that stick in the spring!

I'm assuming he also plays defense in lacrosse as well.  Wonder if Harbaugh would ever let one of his guys play a sport in another season, especially if they're not crucial to the football team.  I feel like if any coach out there would do it, it would be Harbaugh.

For those that don’t know, a Maryland lacrosse commitment is like nine levels above dabbling. They love recruiting hyper athletic monsters and running people off the field.
