OT: Lions to make "major" announcment on Tuesday.
February 8th, 2011 at 10:39 AM ^
Stafford's career is over. We'll trade up to get Cam Newton as soon as possible.
February 8th, 2011 at 12:02 PM ^
But can the Lions pay him as much as Auburn?
February 8th, 2011 at 12:27 PM ^
Not after the NFL caps a rookie's salary.
February 8th, 2011 at 11:14 AM ^
Maybe they are the Hard Knocks team this year? The Jets had a similarly vague "major announcement" press conference last year, IIRC.

I would love to see the Lions on Hard Knocks, but you have to think that's a pretty big distraction for a team trying to rapidly improve. Hopefully they accept it once they actually have a better team foundation in place.

...to a consortium led by Matt Millen. They are also moving the team to LA.
/joking...

Looks like an announcement regarding pre-season tv rights....I'd prefer an announcement re: Asomugha.
February 8th, 2011 at 12:56 PM ^
Hopefully they go back to Honolulu Blue and Silver, ditching the horrendous black.

Bringing in Jeff Fisher to be assistant head coach?
February 8th, 2011 at 4:35 PM ^
Probably just that TV deal for preseason games.
February 8th, 2011 at 4:40 PM ^
The Fords are selling the Lions to the owners of American and Lafayette Coney Island?
February 8th, 2011 at 4:42 PM ^
If you go with Lafayette you'll have the fastest two-minute drill in football.
And a real Michgan Man prefers Lafayette over that generic knockoff next door.
February 8th, 2011 at 5:09 PM ^
Ooh, them's fightin' words. For the record, American came first, so Lafayette would be the knockoff. Personally, I'm a Kerby's guy, mostly because they're the same family as American and Lafayette.
February 8th, 2011 at 7:11 PM ^
I've been in NC since 2003 and there is nothing I've found in my area that is even close. The breakfast at Kerby's is #2 on the must do list (just below a Tiger game and way above visiting the in-laws) when I go back home every summer.
February 8th, 2011 at 5:17 PM ^
It's less than two hours away now, if I am not mistaken.
I am guessing that either it is about the preseason TV rights or that John Kitna is sticking to his 10-win prediction.
February 8th, 2011 at 5:44 PM ^
i'm being brought in as the lions head coach/starting rb/savior
February 8th, 2011 at 7:18 PM ^
Ok, so what happened?
February 8th, 2011 at 7:19 PM ^
Lions to Baltimore. Ravens to Detroit.
February 8th, 2011 at 7:21 PM ^
Alright, we get Harbaugh after all.
I don't discriminate amongst Harbaughs.

I always get the impression that organizations get way more psyched - or want us to get way more psyched - about the TV deal than we fans do. All I give a damn about is what number to punch into my remote control, and whether or not I even can.
February 8th, 2011 at 8:04 PM ^
Well, when your national affiliate (ABC) doesn't have any regular season games, I suppose this is the best a local station can do.
