Tate news on Twitter

Sorry Golden and that would serve him right to suffer with the GERG for a couple seasons
January 20th, 2011 at 6:11 AM ^
Gerg would look good on South Beach.

The first half of Tate's freshmen season was awesome and he showed some nice moments filling in for Denard this season but I'm not sure if his time as the Michigan starting qb is gone. Just think he's used 2 seasons up already. By the time he gets his grades up, the question will be where are Denard and Devin be on the qb depth chart? Will Hoke have recruited a stud 5 star qb that he would like to insert at the first opportunity?
Either way I'm rooting for this guy. After all he is a part of Michigan, would love to have him as an excellent back up, and he is human. We want people to succeed in general anyways.
Go Blue!

Denard is the qauterback and will be for the next two years. Hoke and Borges have made that pretty clear. Anyone besides Denard taking snaps at QB for Michigan over the next two years would be an absolute shame.
Besides, a 5 star Freshman QB <<<<<<<<<<<<<<< a Senior Denard Robinson

Despite what he said during the season, I think it was glaringly obvious that what the football move would be for Tate. I don't hold it against anyone when they transfer to a situation that is arguably in their interests. And clearly, Tate is getting the bulk of his education foundation from football.
Good luck to him. I wish him well.
January 20th, 2011 at 12:10 AM ^
Sounds like he is gone.
January 20th, 2011 at 12:11 AM ^
Allows 140 characters, Tate - stop being so inefficient with these 50 character tweets! Think about the made up forests that produce the made up paper for the internet!
January 20th, 2011 at 12:15 AM ^
Tweets after midnight. I really hope he is ok.
January 20th, 2011 at 12:11 AM ^
He's been gone.
January 20th, 2011 at 12:12 AM ^
seems like he's giving the reasons why he's not coming back.
I am proud to have been part of Michigan Football history and will always cherish the memory.
January 20th, 2011 at 12:23 AM ^
I was hoping he was going to take personal responsibility for his own actions. Instead, it sounds more like Vince McMahon after what is known as the "Montreal Screwjob" saying, "Vince McMahon didn't screw Bret Hart; Bret Hart screwed Bret Hart."
It sounds to me like he needs to go to a party school in a small conference where he can put up a lot of stats, party a lot, and not study hard. I'm sure there are plenty of them around. At any rate, he is keeping the family tradition intact.

Jesus dude, cut the kid some slack. He went from being a national golden boy (my OSU loving dad even told me that he wished the Buckeyes had Tate rather than Pryor after the 2009 Notre Dame game) to taking a pretty steep fall. Yes some to a lot of it was due to his own bad decisions, but I think he showed a lot of growth and maturity as the 2010 season wore on. Obviously he made some bad decisions and will have to deal with it, but he's a 20 year old college sophomore (and one who had all of his mistakes scrutinized and thrown back in his face at a national level).
He gave Michigan a lot. Things didn't work out for him, but rather than be pissy about it, I feel bad about it. I wish he was staying, but he's not. He's got the talent to start at the D-I level, so I say good luck to him and I hope he finds a place to play.
January 20th, 2011 at 12:12 AM ^
Hey Tate, there's a character limit on twitter for a reason. It's not for press conferences.
January 20th, 2011 at 12:14 AM ^
A Twitter "press conference"? I have seen everything now...
January 20th, 2011 at 12:14 AM ^
I was hopeful after his dad came into town, but that's the way it goes.
January 20th, 2011 at 12:15 AM ^
ok, it's official, he's done:
I really wanted to stay. I was not giving up on Michigan, but in the end, it was made clear they had given up on me.
January 20th, 2011 at 12:16 AM ^
Yeesh.
January 20th, 2011 at 12:16 AM ^
Not cool making that your official statement. Like they didn't give him chances......
January 20th, 2011 at 12:20 AM ^
Who is "Michigan?" Who, exactly, gave up on you? RR? He's gone. Magee? Gone. Brandon?
Whatevs, I'm going to bed.
January 20th, 2011 at 12:18 AM ^
balls. Well, at least the west coast offense doesn't fit him... wait
January 20th, 2011 at 12:16 AM ^
You know the whole "glass shattering" thing?
That happens with me when a UM player leaves the school (graduation or transfer), and I realize what people were complaining about him while he was donning the winged helmet (and I was blindly rooting for him like all good nutball fans do).
Dramatic? Naaah.... he's just cocky and passionate - I want my QBs to be like that!
[leaves the school]
[glass shatters]
OHHHHHHHHHHHhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh...............
January 20th, 2011 at 12:40 AM ^
That moment for me was when he started texting reporters. He has his faults, but hey, good luck to him wherever he goes.
January 20th, 2011 at 12:16 AM ^
Damn. For all his attitude problems he had before, I wanted him back definitely. He was a more than capable backup and playmaker, and possibly could have blossomed more under Hoke's offense.
Given us some memories, that is forsure.
January 20th, 2011 at 12:16 AM ^
And he does it in typical Forcier fashion. On twitter, with the maximum suspense and drama.
Good luck, Tate.
January 20th, 2011 at 12:18 AM ^
This is, unfortunately, a very true statement.
January 20th, 2011 at 12:20 AM ^
haven't they all transfered at one point or another? If this keeps going like it seems
January 20th, 2011 at 12:17 AM ^
nnnnoooooo
January 20th, 2011 at 12:17 AM ^
Michigan gave up on him? Quit throwing yourself a pity party, Tate.
January 20th, 2011 at 12:20 AM ^
Yeah seriously. Way to make yourself into the victim, Mr. You-just-have-to-show-up-to-class-to-get-an-A.
January 20th, 2011 at 12:22 AM ^
A simple, "I would've liked to stay at Michigan, but things didn't work out." This dramatic "press release" over Twitter is just laughable and pretty much sums up the Forciers.
January 20th, 2011 at 12:24 AM ^
Gave up on him because he couldn't make the grade? I liked Tate and was pulling for him but this is a major cop out. Sorry Tate, you blew it man.
January 20th, 2011 at 12:18 AM ^
It's been years since someone's broken up with me to my face like this. I-I-I don't know what to say.
This went from funny, to inspirational, to sad in 20 minutes. Nuts.
January 20th, 2011 at 12:18 AM ^
Godspeed Tate. You leave only happy memories with me.
January 20th, 2011 at 12:19 AM ^
I figured he'd end up leaving. It's in the bloodline.......
January 20th, 2011 at 12:19 AM ^
NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
January 20th, 2011 at 12:20 AM ^
Remember when people said that either Denard or Tate would transfer or change positions by the end of their career?
Well . . . I guess we're finding out which one is going to hang on the longest.
January 20th, 2011 at 12:23 AM ^
I'd have bet everything it'd be Denard moving to another position
January 20th, 2011 at 12:21 PM ^
just a week ago. Huh.
January 20th, 2011 at 8:45 AM ^
Didn't you say previously that Denard would/should change positions? Not trying to be a dick, just asking...
January 20th, 2011 at 10:04 AM ^
I thought he would by the end of his Michigan career, but not yet...
January 20th, 2011 at 12:20 AM ^
"Tate Forcier #5 - A Michigan Man Forever - Go Blue"
There was another Michigan Man who had a greater quote. "Those who stay will be Champions."
Just sayin.
January 20th, 2011 at 12:27 AM ^
Also see: "Those who go to class, get to play."
January 20th, 2011 at 12:20 AM ^
i'm guessing that this is the end of the press conference
Tate Forcier #5 - A Michigan Man Forever - Go Blue
I promise the Michigan family and fans I will make you proud again.
January 20th, 2011 at 12:24 AM ^
Does that mean he's coming back...oh wait no ;(
January 20th, 2011 at 12:42 AM ^
I can only assume that he's going to transfer to OSU and become a secret agent/saboteur for us.
January 20th, 2011 at 12:22 AM ^
I'm not in the mood for "Fur-man" jokes but could he be thinking of transferring there? I believe he could play immediately since they're a division below.
January 20th, 2011 at 12:25 AM ^
Montana boards have been talking about him for a few weeks now.
