OT: Anyone drinking anything good tonight?
It's late on a Friday (well Saturday now I guess), and though I'm trying my hardest to get the girlfriend up to date on South Park (ugh she's on season four) she's fallen asleep with the promise of an early alarm clock. So here I am with my beer and missing the open threads of just a few nights ago.
My MGoDrink for the moment is Goose Island's Honkers Ale. First night with it, and it is not disappointing. Anyone else having anything noteworthy? Or have enough of something to make it noteworthy?

really? i have to be honest, i actually didnt like the makers 46 more than regular makers, and definitely didnt think it was worth the extra premium $$ per bottle.

John Daly's alll night!

Had to look that one up. +1 simply for having an Arnold Palmer with a shot of vodka thrown in to make it a John Daly.

Seagrams recently came out with sweet tea vodka. Also Absolut did that promotion that picked three cities. One of them was Boston, which was a black tea infused vodka. That was really good mixed with lemonade.

yea that's what I had, seagrams sweat tea with lemonade.

gin and tonic
January 15th, 2011 at 2:30 AM ^
Is that any good? I saw the badass bottle today.
January 15th, 2011 at 2:34 AM ^
It is actually very good. They had a promotion or something at the Bev Mo by my house. I bought a bottle of it and brought it with me to Vegas.
I am a gin drinker, but my friend who isn't even liked and started to drink it straight with me.

Normally I'm a fan of gin only when it's halfway decent. If I could give a prize for "best liquor when good, worst when bad" I would pick gin.
But I do love a good Tanqueray and tonic or just a classic martini.
Edit- Do you like Hendrick's, by any chance?
January 15th, 2011 at 4:34 AM ^
I have had Hendricks before. I was told that it is really good, but when I tried it I was not a fan. I liked Prestige Gin more which was $9 and came in a plastic bottle. There was something strange about the Hendrick's.
Edit: I might have ti try Hendricks again, when I'm not already drunk off really cheap gin.
January 15th, 2011 at 7:54 AM ^
Hendrick's is distilled with cucumber, not juniper. That's the odd thing you're tasting.

Yech, I'm a gin drinker too and I can't stand New Amsterdam. Give me anything else but it.
I'm guessing it's personal preference more than anything else.
January 15th, 2011 at 4:19 AM ^
It might have been good since I wasn't expecting it since I haven't heard much about it. I used it just to pre party before I started to pay ungodly amounts of money for weak cocktails.

Started drinking this in Uganda, and have found one place locally that sells it. The joys of living in a former British colony. For the price, a nice everyday scotch, and I do like scotch every day!!
